The private jet's engines whined as we descended through the clouds, Beijing's dazzling night skyline twinkling below like a carpet of gems. My gaze drifted from the stunning vista, jaw clenched as I tuned out my father's incessant prattling about the illustrious Huang family and their absurd wealth.

"...and can you believe it, Yangyao?" He turned to me, eyes alight with a merchantry's gleam. "That Huang Yanyan girl - she's been granted controlling shares in Huang Group's vast holdings! At only eighteen, she's now the second wealthiest woman in all of China!"

I rolled my eyes, unable to mask my utter disdain. "Hmph, like that fat nobody deserves any of it. She's nothing but a vapid slob - what could someone like her possibly do with that much power and influence?"
