Chapter 18: Back Home
Arthur wakes up in the school clinic.
"Ohhh, you are awake, your friends and family have been worried sick." A female doctor standing some distance away alongside a female nurse.
"Hey go get he's family." The doctor says to the nurse.
The nurse goes out to do just that as the doctor tries to do some minor check ups on Arthur.
"You've been out for two days, but it seems you are completely fine".
Arthur is shocked to hear he had been unconscious for two days straight.
As she finishes Oliver bursts the door open as he storms in with Aeriel and Aurora following directly behind, all carrying a concerned look.
Aurora jumps unto Arthur in the hospital bed hugging him tight.
"Are you ok?" Oliver asks with a really worried look.
Arthur had never seen his parents look so worried before, he was really touched.
"I'm ok dad" He says with a smile.
Ariel grabs Arthur's hair and pulls it to the side.
"You didn't wear the bracelet I gave you, did you?" Ariel scolds.
"Oww owe oww, I'm sorry I'm sorry" Arthur begs.
Ariel releases him.
"Sigh... You need to always be prepared Arthur, you never know what you could get hit with." She says with a worried face.
"You are strong but there's always someone or something stronger than you"
Oliver scoffs.
"Shut up!" Aeriel to Oliver.
Arthur place his hand on Aurora's head as he pats it.
"I understand mum, I'll be more careful from now on."
"Well the doctor said all you had to do was wake up and you could be discharged, but are you really go to go?" Oliver asks.
"Yhh I think so" Arthur replies as he stretches a little.
"Well that's good to hear"
P.O.V - ARTHUR
I gets into my room and shut the door behind me.
I drop some of my clothes on a chair beside my bed.
I sit on my bed and try to go into a lotus position as I close my eyes but as soon as I shut them I immediately entered deep meditation.
Seems I don't need the lotus position anymore to fully concentrate.
I float before that dark space again staring into nothingness, as if trying to find something in nothing.
During the fight with that monster, I felt this unknown power pulsating a little and it became amplified after the monter stabbed me.
When I woke up I felt a lot more filled up and a lot more... powerful.
The conclusion I can draw here would be that, the intense fight with that monster enable me to gain a little access to this power.
I begin to move forward towards this unknown force again.
And of course the pressure placed on me is no joke, but I seem to be able to bear it a little more now.
I keep moving forward and the pressure just keeps getting more intense until I couldn't bear it no more and was sent out.
I open my eyes and collapse on my bed tired but at the same time refreshed.
I seem to have gotten a little, tiny bit more access to it.
Well, there's no need to rush, I've got time.
I stand up and go take a shower.
As I come out my mom's calls out to me.
"Arthur! Your friends are here to see you".
Arthur, Beatrix and Ares sit in Arthur's room.
"Are you really fine now?" Ares asks.
"Yhh I'm good, didn't think you'd be the caring type" Arthur replies with a smirk on his face.
"Naaaa it's not that.
Your parents almost brought down the whole city when they saw you unconscious.
Just your mother's rage made the whole school tremble dude.
Although my parents were also pissed they couldn't show it since they had to put all their effort in calming your parents down.
They were already almost at the Binary heads house when my parents managed to stop them and calm them down.
My parents looked more worried about what they would do than they were worried about I their son who was injured.
I had to question them when I was able to and that was when they told me who your parents were.
And it all made sense.
It made sense why I'd continuously lost to you"
"Naaa that's just cause you are weak". Arthur teases.
"Shut up!" Ares yells.
Arthur giggles a little.
Beatrix remains silent with her head bowed.
Ares explains to him what happened, what he did and how they were able to kill the monster after he passed out.
Arthur hearing all this is shocked that he did all that, but for some reason he seems to believe him.
Ares notices the atmosphere between the two was quite solemn and awkward.
He tries to liven up the mood a little.
"Well why didnt you tell us your parents were the..."
"C... Could you please excuse us Ares?" Beatrix cuts him short.
"Sigh...You both do your stuff, I'll be downstairs."
Ares leaves shutting the door behind him.
The room remains silent for a while after Ares leaves.
They both sit there saying nothing.
After a while Arthur stands up and walks towards a table.
His back is turned to Beatrix when she breaks the silence
"I'm sorry"
Arthur remains silent as he picks up a book and walks back to sit down.
"Please!" she utters out loud.
Arthur is surprised she said that but acts nonchalant.
"What exactly are you apologizing for Beatrix?"
The silence comes back for a while.
"I should have stuck with the plan no matter what, b...but your life was in danger, I...I just couldn't."
"Funny how you were the same person that thought me " In a battle of life and death, if a plan seems assured to work, that plan must be carried out regardless of the sacrifices.". Yet you were the same one who compromised the plan just for the life of one man".
"Your life does not belong to you alone Arthur" Beatrix replies.
"Your act almost got every other person killed!" Arthur says.
"I'd rather they all die than have you injured my lord" Beatrix says as she raises her head looking Arthur dead in the eye.
"Oohhh?.."
