Chapter 2: Scenario One - Try Not To Die (II)
"Lucius... check your inventory." Daniel suddenly spoke to me as he went downstairs.
"Inventory...?"

"This fucking exists?" I couldn't help but exclaim.
An inventory... Honestly, it's probably the most useful thing that you can have, if you think about it.
Either way, at least now I had a weapon to kill those monsters.
I put my hand on the inventory screen and grabbed the sword slot.
I really took a sword out of that small space, it was quite fascinating.
"Oh? It's a katana?" I couldn't help but smile.
This was my favourite kind of sword. I really didn't like great swords, or anything like that.
"Oh, damn..." As I turned to Daniel, I simply saw him carrying a huge, great sword.
That was huge.
"Uh? We got different swords?" Daniel uttered as he saw my sword.
"I guess it depends on the user's preference or something like that." I replied.
I took the katana out of his "saya", and then decided to test its sharpness.
"It's really damn sharp." I slightly touched the blade with my finger, and as my finger made contact with the blade, it immediately started bleeding.
"Just perfect."
However, if this was a basic sword... what kind of swords are there?
I was getting quite excited by this same fact.
"What's our game plan here?" Daniel suddenly asked me.
"Our plan...? Do you mean my plan, where I left you to die here?"
"B-bro... don't joke like that. We're friends, right...?" Daniel patted my shoulders.
He was really scared by my words.
At this point... he was really going to become dead weight. And he doesn't have a single skill that could help us.
"Just shut up already. We have a lot of time to kill a single monster. I just need to figure it how to do that."
Is there any way to see a monster's stats? That would be very useful.
Maybe... my secret eye can get stronger, and I'll get that option.
KRRIIIIK
A high-pitched roar reached out to my ears, and my eyes immediately landed in the direction of the sound.
"HELPPP!!!"
"God damn it..." I furrowed my eyebrows.
In front of me, a beautiful woman—more precisely, the school's most popular girl was running away from a giant rat while screaming for help.
"Lucius... we should kill that rat immediately!" Daniel spoke as he grabbed his sword tightly.
Oh... I almost forgot that this guy has the biggest crush on the girl in front of us. Her name is Alaine, by the way.
"Do it yourself." I tapped his shoulder before leaning against the wall.
I was quite curious about what he was going to do.
"L-Lucius... c'mon! You know how much I like her!"
"Do you realize that if I do all the work, there's a chance that she is going to fall in love with me?"
"True... but still!!!"
Yeah, yeah.
"Just do it, peanuts." I shrugged him off.
"A-ah... Daniel, help meee!!!"
Her eyes met mine as she screamed, but seeing my expression, I guess she knew that I wasn't going to help her.
"Here we go..."
Daniel suddenly rushed towards the monster, and Alaine quickly jumped away from it.
He swung his sword at the head of the rat...
KRRRIKK!
However, the rat actually... caught the fucking sword with its huge hands.
"F-fuck... Lucius, help!" Daniel screamed as the rat engulfed his sword.
He really ate Daniel's sword. However, that gave me a chance to act, so I ran towards the creature.
And as its eyes locked with mine, I threw my phone into the air, which his gaze automatically followed and took the chance...
Splurt!
KRIIIKKK!
I stabbed my sword in the rat's eyes, with blood splitting into my clothes and face; however, I didn't stop.
I took out the sword, and plunged it into it's other eye!
KRIIIK!
"Shut it, you goddamn creature."
With both of its eyes blinded, I took the chance, jumped on top of it, and stabbed the sword directly at the creature's back.
Puff!
The creature dissipated into wisps.
[Warning: The monster's body will immediately dissipate since this is only a tutorial.]
A screen popped right in front of me, but I didn't care.
However, from that warning, I could see that maybe the monster's body could have value in this apocalypse.
[You have killed a giant rat! You were the first person in the entire world to complete the objective!]

Coins, huh? It seems that maybe we're going to have a shop.
Actually... maybe it already exists.
"Open shop." I uttered.
[ERROR! This function is only available on the second scenario.]
Of course.
Anyway, I've received six stat points. However, I don't think I need to upgrade my stats right now.
But the skill points... I'll use them immedaitely.
I opened my status, and clicked on the [+], that now appeared next to my Unique Skill.
[Secret Sight (Level 2)
Allows the user to see things that are hidden from players.
Allows the user to see the weakness of anything his eyes land on.]
Uh... pretty useful.
I turned my gaze to Daniel, and immediately saw his whole body covered in a huge red mark.
Ahh... he really is dead weight.
However, as my eyes landed on Alaine... only the left part of her waist was marked with red, and it was tiny bit.
It seems that she's hiding something...
"A-are you okay...?" She suddenly approached me.
She also didn't seem to mind the blood on my face and clothes.
"Whatever." I shrugged her off.
I went to the bathroom, where I wiped my face.
I could hear their voices; it seems that they were having a pretty fun conversation. However, Daniel is dead weight, while Alaine seems to be hiding something.
I need to quickly upgrade my Secret Sight, and hope there's a function that helps me see their character profile.
I just need to level up once more, and I have enough skill points to upgrade it once again.
However, one thing that I need to figure out is how to acquire skills. They are going to be the most useful thing in the apocalypse.
"Oh... Lucius, you're back." Daniel said to me.
It seems that he was a bit disappointed.
"Ah.. I don't have any chances with her. I guess she really fell in love with you, man..." He sighed.
"She only asked about you when we were talking..." He wiped the tears from his face.
"Oh, really?"
There's no way that's true.
"Whatever... you need to kill one monster. Remember? We still have more than twenty hours left, but we should do it fast."
"Ah..."
"Let's go."
"W-wait! Please, let me go with you!" Alaine suddenly ran towards me and grabbed my hands with a pleading gaze.
"Why would I let you go with us? You're nothing more than dead weight." I directly expressed my thoughts.
"Lucius! You shouldn't be that mea—!"
"Shut it. You're dead weight too; the only reason I'm letting you go with me is because we've been friends since our childhood."
"Ah..." He directly closed his lips.
It was quite refreshing not to hear his voice.
"I-I can prove that I'm not a dead weight." She suddenly turned to me as she looked into my eyes from below.
"Sigh... Then prove it."
Upon hearing my words, she let go of me, and suddenly, grabbed a... staff from her inventory.
A staff?
Did she get a magic skill or something?
"Flame, arise!" She uttered, and suddenly, a flame appeared in front of her staff.
"Go!"
BOOM!
She launched a fireball against a wall, which completely disintegrated the entire wall.
She really was hiding something; besides, that power could easily have killed that rat.
"God damn..." Daniel exclaimed from the side.
"It seems that you're the only dead weight now." I spoke to him.
"Fuck... am I going to be left behind?"
"Probably."
Oh, shit.
I ran towards Alaine and caught her in my arms. It seems that using the fireball magic was enough to make her pass out.
But it was more than enough for me. I had a great plan.
So, I carried her in a princess position.
"Let's go, Daniel. We have some monsters to kill." I smiled.
"Fuck... we're soo going to die."
"By the way... let me carry her."
"...Useless."
"The fuck?"
