Chapter 11: Ponzi

[Yes sir] Kelex answered a faint blue beam shot out of the pod and swept through James' body.

Seconds later, all the information about his physiology was displayed on the screen however, James couldn't understand it all.

Truthfully he knew next to nothing concerning science other than the basics, he had planned to learn as he went but now the entire result was presented before him and he couldn't understand it.

He was just a five-year-old, there was no way he could gain access to higher-level books. The farm didn't exactly grow those.

"Kelex, can you scan the Earth's internet and compile all academic information into several files that I can learn from?" James asked

He knew that Kelex could do it after all at the moment, all the human technological giants of this Universe hadn't yet started their reign. Batman was either a 5 or 6-year-old, Lex was either 6 or so and Mr terrific was probably still in middle/primary school or so.

[Commencing Scan…] Kelex replied

As it began its scan all the information on the screen disappeared, leaving behind a screen which showed several files, all nameless at first before they suddenly gained a name after every subject taught in schools and more.

[Scan complete] Kelex said as the files visibly reduced from the thousands to a hundred or less.

Kelex had classified all the information under their umbrella subjects to make things easier for James.

With the task completed, James immediately opened the 'Biology' file and began to read. His enhanced senses also mean heightened perception which meant faster reading.

The files were much but he was fast and he needed to get it done before his parents came back. The Couple just left for God knows where but thankfully they had put Clark to sleep before they left.

Even while trying his best to read and understand what he was reading as fast as possible. James still ensured to check on his brother and the house using his X-ray vision and thermal imaging.

He didn't know why but he had been having a strange feeling lately. He hoped it was nothing but he found himself always preparing for an attack no matter what time or day it was.

"Kelex can you set up a watch over the house" James asked

[I can't do that sir, I have no equipment to use] Kelex replied as James just sighed.

He knew that Kelex was an A.I. it would only be able to perform where there was equipment to use unlike here.

All it could do is probably view the house from space but that would just alert the World of a mystery hacker or being that could hijack satellites.

"Thanks anyway but Kelex can I ask you something" James asked suddenly as he removed the heavy feeling he felt.

[Sure, go ahead]

"Ok, Kelex can you run a Ponzi scheme" James asked with a smile

He didn't know why but the very moment Kelex appeared, he thought of how Kelex would probably be the ultimate fraudster, especially with the computing power, it had access to. Kelex could study human behaviour and find out the best ways to manipulate humans to pay in their money.

[Ponzi scheme... yes] Kelex replied seconds later

"I knew it!!.... But to what levels of efficiency" James asked

At the moment, he wasn't ruling out the thoughts of actually starting a Ponzi scheme. Not for any real reason except for the fact that he could and he wanted to see how long Kelex could run it... and that it would be fun.

He was too young to care about the money and even if he needed it, there are many ways he could get them with or without Kelex's help.

[I can make it last for hundreds of years if you want, do you want me to start a scheme]

"I don't know….. yes…no….. in fact yes, let's test it out" James said with a smile

[Screening all possible scenarios….. reinventing scheme... calculating pay rate….] Kelex said continuously though it didn't interrupt James' files even while doing all that.

[Scheme frame built, sir please state all limits you want to put on it now] Kelex said,

James couldn't help but think about how advanced Kelex was. If it wasn't for all the respectful remarks and the fact that he knew that Kelex couldn't feel emotions yet, he would have thought he would have thought that Kelex was a regular human.

"Just do what is necessary as long as the scheme doesn't harm anyone too much or unnecessarily" James said after all he didn't know much about Ponzi schemes, he just knew that when the scheme collapses, it usually affects a lot of people badly.

[Generating Capital] Kelex suddenly said much to James' surprise

"Eh… Kelex what do you mean by that"

[To run a well-planned Ponzi scheme, you would need to have a large amount of capital. I am taking all excess money from all illegal accounts I can find] Kelex replied

"Oh, thank goodness," James thought. After all, if you have to put money into an illegal account then you obviously didn't get that money in the right way.

[Registering all required documents….. Establishing Website] Kelex said as it worked to create what was probably the greatest Ponzi Scheme in existence.

If James knew what his simple experiment for fun would lead to, he wouldn't be smiling like a fool.

He didn't need the money the scheme would generate. This whole ordeal was just an experiment to him, an experiment to see how advanced Kelex really was.

He knew Kelex was advanced when it came to all the technological nonsense but he wanted to see how advanced it was as an AI, if it could understand Human nature.
