They approached DD cautiously, their concern evident with their voices . "DD, are you alright ?" Alex and Annika asked simultaneously, their worrry palpable.
DD's responce was laced with both innocence and hidden frustration. "Am l alright ? Do you really think l wouldn't remember everything ?" She turned towards them, her gaze piecercing. "I saw you standing there, so close, oblivious to time passing by as if you were in your own bedroom".
Alex and Annika exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of how to respond.
"And you , Annika," DD continued, her dissapointment evident. "Didn't you check the time on your watch your brother's gifted you? I expected more from you . I thought you were punctual, responsible".
DD's words stung, cutting through the air with sharpness . She turned towards the servant , her frustration pouring out."And you can't you see ?" The servant apologized meekly, but DD's anger persisted. "To heck with your sorry! Do you know how much it meant to me ? I wanted to wear it for this event".
Turning back to Annika, DD took her glasses and handed them to the servant."You need these more than l do. Take them and be more attentive next time".
The servant, chastised promised to do better and quickly left.
"Now that the drama is over, shall we go?" DD's tone softened slightly. "You act like children sometimes. Come, let's leave".
Together, they walked away, the tension lingering in the air, leaving behind a moment of confrotation and clarity.
