Chapter 38: CHAPTER 37: Part 1 : Solitude in the Kitchen.
As Alex and his friends departed, leaving Annika to face the kitchen alone, she couldn't help but lament,"Now he's left me to cook all by myself, and he's dismissed all of the servants. Such a cunning man," she muttered, punctuating her frustration with forceful punches to the dough.
Suddenly, a realization struck her - she had forgotten about the dumplings. "Oh, no, l forgot to make the dumplings. Let me go and fetch the potatoes, "she mumbled, hurrying to the pantry where the potatoes awaited.
Counting and washing the potatoes, Annika busied herself with the task until her phone rudely interrupted. "Who the heck is calling now ?"she snapped, glancing at the screen to see her sister Mehar's face.
Answering the video call, Annika greeted her sister as she rolled the dough with a rolling pin. Annika explained the menu for the day, including pasta, dumplings, and an array of decadent desserts. "All these fancy dishes, is there an event today ?" Mehar inquired, adjusting the automatic pasta extruder.
Annika clarified that were no special event, but the Roy Family preferred foreign cuisine due to dieatary restrictions. Mehar chuckled at the typical family habits.
