Chapter 88: Chapter 87 - Prince Family.

Snape had taken Clarisse to the Room of Requirement for the first time, while the girl immediately looked around, stunned but also with a gleam of admiration, as they were in the main hall before heading to the rooms and nurseries.
"What place is this? Are we at Hogwarts?" she asked immediately, curious.
"Yes... This is just a place I've been occupying lately. But leaving that aside, come with me..." he requested, as he led her down a corridor to a large room with a few cauldrons, where many plants full of fermentations were being magically infused. It was much easier to create new ingredients here, though not the best the market could offer.
"This will be a good place for you to train the potions you want, but don't speak of this place to anyone," Snape pointed to the garden and spoke calmly, having grown a certain confidence in the girl over the years.
"This is really incredible, Severus... thank you..." she murmured, impressed as she approached the area.
"I'll help at the start, but I'll be doing my own things and will come back once I finish to see your progress..." he said as she nodded.
The rest of the day Snape assisted her while she practiced her magic in another room, and when Snape returned to help Clarisse, a new person appeared in the room. "Hello, Snape!" Pandora came over to them.
"Hello, Pandora," Snape greeted her calmly as Clarisse looked surprised to see the girl there too.
"Hello, Lady Greengrass, it's the first time I've seen Snape showing the Room of Requirement to someone," she spoke with an excited tone.
"Is that true...?" Clarisse asked, a bit surprised, looking at Snape by her side.
"..." He did not respond, focusing on the cauldron, until he looked up at the blonde with a smile for her. "What is it?" he asked indifferently.
"Forget it..." Clarisse pouted, and Snape shrugged, returning to his tasks. "Anyway... you know this place too?" she asked Pandora.
"Yes... I helped find it," she replied, and Clarisse looked at Snape, noticing the heat of the cauldron at that moment.
"So, you're living here, Severus, is that why you don't show up in Slytherin anymore?" she asked curiously.
"Yes, it's quieter here and I don't have to deal with so many annoying people," Snape finally responded.
Pandora ended up joining in a conversation with Clarisse while Snape seldom responded to anything they asked him, and time passed by. In the end, Pandora left the room as Snape escorted Clarisse to the Slytherin entrance.
"Thank you, Snape..." she said with a smile, simply moving closer to his face and giving him a kiss on the cheek as she ran to the door.
"..." Snape was surprised by this, but shrugged it off, disappearing with a pop.
Weeks passed, and it was finally the last month of classes, as everyone prepared for the final exams.
Snape was in the dining hall when something happened to him, attracting attention; a silver owl swooped down to the Slytherin table and approached Snape, dropping a letter before returning to the main door.
"Hey, that's a Steve Vujin owl!" someone exclaimed among the Slytherin members, and all eyes were on Snape as he was surprised to see people recognizing who he had hired, which didn't seem as discreet as he had hoped.
"That guy can only be hired for thousands of galleons of gold... What is Snape planning?" some students murmured.
"..." Snape heard this and looked at a student near him. "You know this guy too, Geronimo?" Snape asked.
"Of course, everyone knows him... He's the most skilled magical detective in England, although he turned down the offer to find the mysterious alchemist and the man who massacred dark wizards in Hogsmeade... I heard even the Dark Lord requested his services and even the young lady..." Geronimo said carefully to Snape.
"I see..." Snape wasn't very familiar with whom he had hired, having only gotten the contact and paid well, but it seemed this man was famous among the noble circles. "Anyway, goodbye," Snape said and disappeared.
He reappeared in the Room of Requirement, now having what he requested and wanting to calmly look through it to see if there was anything telling about his mother's condition.
As soon as he opened the letter, various items began to emerge, such as two books, something that looked like a scroll, and four sheets of paper. "Well... this is more than I imagined..." Snape murmured.
"Do you need anything, Master Snape?" Seeing that Snape was there, Dobby appeared quickly, greeting Snape as usual.
"I need some coffee since I'm going to spend some time here, and do not disturb me." Snape spoke, and Dobby quickly disappeared, with the requested items appearing on the table.
"So these are all the things I asked to be investigated about the Prince family..." Snape murmured while looking at the papers in front of him.
Then, he started first with the books, which recounted the history of the Prince family, their marriages, and customs throughout their history. He quickly finished reading all the books, and it wasn't difficult to notice a common theme.
"It seems the Prince family takes blood purity very seriously," he commented. "All their members, whether from the main or a secondary branch, marry among other pure-blood wizards."
Even if there wasn't someone available from the 28 great families of England, they always sought marriage outside, with the exception of a few rare cases throughout the centuries. The Prince family always maintained a pure-blood line.
Of course, there were exceptions here, though they were a small group of them, and those who did not marry other nobles, still associated with wizards, even if they were Muggle-born.
"The Prince family is a very old family, which emerged shortly after the time of Merlin... and has lasted until today," Snape murmured.
After this conclusion, he set the books aside and delved into the scroll, which spoke of his mother's era, as the detective he hired had put information.
'Eileen Prince, from a very young age, showed exceptional talent for magic, surpassing in skill and knowledge many of her peers. Her aptitude for potions was particularly notable, and it didn't take long for her to be considered the favorite of Snape's grandfather, the patriarch of the family at the time. He encouraged her to explore the limits of her magic, providing her with the best tutors and resources so she could flourish as the prodigious witch he believed she would be.
During her youth, Eileen grew up surrounded by expectations. She was the pride of the family. However, despite all the admiration and support she received, there was a shadow of isolation and she had few friends.
With the sudden death of her grandfather, something changed drastically in Eileen. The loss of her father was quite devastating for her, her older brother took over the leadership of the family as he began to organize the family, but for some reason, Eileen seemed to distance herself from the family at this time and a few months later, met Tobias Snape, a Muggle, fell in love and abandoned her name to marry the Muggle.
She had a son and years later, ended up being killed by the beating from her own husband and for some reason, no one in the magical world put this down as a murder and left Tobias without any crime charged.'
He finished reading the scroll filled with details and moved to the sheets, which appeared to be handwritten.
'My verdict about your mother, despite being the youngest daughter, was an excellent witch and much coveted for her beauty in magical circles and had many suitors in high-class circles of the wizarding world, although she prioritized her studies trying to meet the expectations of her father, she had awakened envy and jealousy in her older brothers.
"I believe that with jealousy, fear arose that Eileen would assume the official position of head of the family. Therefore, I believe her grandfather was killed by his own children, after all, he had not decided anything about who would inherit, and naturally, it would be the eldest son in the line of succession, which was foolish in my opinion. The old patriarch Prince showed nothing that would take the family leadership away from his eldest son. Then, Eileen began to be ostracized by her brothers and when the family learned of her relationship with a Muggle, she was expelled with her name removed; everyone in the wizarding world, family and friends, turned their backs on her after that, forcing her to abandon all her research and desires as she found herself living with this Muggle.
Although there are strong indications that she had been expelled from the family even before this, after an argument with her own brother, they got a good excuse with her throwing away her blood purity.
I also discovered that her relationship with Tobias was orchestrated, after all, she consumed the love potion involuntarily, Eileen seemed anything but someone who would relate to a Muggle.
Final considerations: Everything indicates that your mother was betrayed by her own older brothers, she was made to fall in love with your father, who began to be violent with her, the real reason for which I have not yet discovered, but it seems that the Prince family used their influence within the Ministry of Magic to cover up the case, with Tobias escaping without any punishment and not even one magical newspaper talked about it.

Snape did not know what to think about this, after all, he just existed because of his uncles' whims with the jealousy they had towards his mother and although it was quite depressing, he didn't care, after all, things had already happened and Snape did not sympathize with the 'WHAT IF...', however... he had to discover a few more things, after all, he wanted to find out what was with his father and why he had a hatred against his mother and continued this anger after her death, taking out a lot of his anger for her, on him.
He simply stood up, first he would find this out, then he would deal with the entire Prince family.
