Chapter 44: Chapter 44 - Third Week Begins.

[Chapter Size: 2100 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Snape returned to his dormitory without bothering anyone else and waited to complete his daily mission. After all, he hadn't done his exercises today and wanted to test something, now that his stats were even stronger than the first time he received the system's punishment.

As soon as he completed the schedule, he found himself in another area while his room began to disappear, giving way to a desert full of sand. It didn't take long for the ground to explode with a huge serpent emerging from it, its target none other than Snape.

He looked at it with a much calmer expression than the last time he was here. "It's good to see you again, little snake," Snape mocked, looking at the creature staring at him with fierce eyes.

The next moment, it lunged at Snape, who quickly moved as it buried its fangs in the ground, causing an explosion with the impact of its head. Meanwhile, Snape had jumped 10 meters high, landing on the creature's head.

He drew his wand and transfigured it into a dagger, a skill he had learned almost a week ago, creating a blade of pure iron. He began to run towards the front of the giant snake as it started to lift its head from the sand.

The pain in the next moment caught it by surprise as Snape leapt to its right side and drove the dagger into its eye. The creature froze, but not finished, Snape jumped back and cast Bombarda, the telekinesis explosion completing the job of destroying the eye.

The explosion made the creature let out an even louder scream of pain as it thrashed its head with one blind side. Snape fell to the ground again, satisfied that he had at least blinded the creature, which would make its pursuit much harder.

It seemed even more furious, with sand rising behind it, its enormous tail whipping upwards and crashing down towards Snape. He quickly dodged, the impact with the ground throwing him away while he was suspended in the air, but landing smoothly.

"Come and get me," Snape challenged as it roared with its enormous fangs and lunged at him, and he began to run at high speed.

It continued to attack him, while he dodged, contrasting with before, not even seeming to tire. His gaze returned upwards, to the sky, where there was a countdown for him to leave.

For the next few hours, he continued evading the one-eyed creature as it tried to kill him with all its might, but without success until the countdown finally ended. A beeping sound followed, with the entire space disappearing, and he found himself back in his room with sand scattered everywhere.

Snape wiped his brow as he saw himself a bit sweaty from what he had just gone through. "I managed to sweat a little, but it's much better than last time." He nodded in satisfaction, receiving the system bonus he sought from this punishment.

[You have received a full recovery card. Would you like to use it?]

He clicked no, letting the card fall into his inventory, almost like a second life he used the first time on that bus.

After seeing that he achieved exactly what he planned, he closed the system. Grabbing his wand, he began to cast a spell to remove all the sand from his bed, leaving the place clean.

With that, Snape decided to sleep. He woke up to start his new week of classes. He left the school as usual and did his exercises. Today he had Herbology class. As he returned to the castle, he noticed the man who took care of the grounds near the lake, Hagrid, crying as he placed a tombstone next to his house, saying things like 'Poor Horny... died so young...' Snape ignored this, also noticing even Hagrid's dog beside him looked sad.

He returned to the castle and went to the common room for breakfast. All the teachers were present, and Snape saw a woman among them whom he hadn't seen last week. Not caring much about it, he continued eating, while the students gossiped that the infirmary had four more students thanks to him.

'With this, they won't bother me anytime soon.' Snape thought as he didn't even look at those students who were looking at him with more fear than last week. He had sent at least 8 students there, not counting those he had knocked out. Though yesterday's incidents weren't serious, just some bruises from his punches.

The first meal continued until Dumbledore tapped his utensils, making a high-pitched sound that echoed through the hall, and everyone paid attention to him at that moment.

"Dear Hogwarts students, I am here to inform you that we have a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Not all students are present, but still, please inform your peers. So, let's welcome Professor Alice Longbottom!!" He pointed to the table as a woman stood up at that moment.

Many students started clapping for the woman, while the Slytherin table didn't seem as enthusiastic as the others. People looked at that table as if they saw future enemies and believed this class would be essential to defeat them.

"It seems there is a lot of prejudice among us..." Snape commented to no one in particular.

"Yes... We are considered future Death Eaters at the service of you-know-who," Geronimo Arts said beside him, and Snape looked at him, wondering when he had been there since he hadn't noticed him while thinking about other things.

"And will you serve...?" Snape decided to ask.

"Do I have a choice...?" he said quietly as his shoulders hunched with the students looking at him.

"I can't say there is always a choice, but it's good to be prepared to have them at least." Snape commented, then stood up while the students were still clapping for the new professor.

"She is the famous Auror Longbottom," he heard.

"Yes, with her teaching us, we can become very powerful!"

"Those snakes will regret joining the dark side!"

Snape continued hearing these types of phrases until he left the hall, heading to the Herbology class in the school's greenhouse.

He arrived early and waited for the class to start while reviewing some books. The class began shortly after, with Lucinda by his side. After the class, he went to the Potions room as soon as it ended, while the fifth-year Slytherins headed to the Transfiguration class, which he no longer attended.

Arriving at Professor Slughorn's room, a seventh-year Slytherin and Hufflepuff class had just started. He didn't care as he entered the room, passing by the tables with cauldrons, heading to the professor's desk.

"What is he doing here?" he immediately heard his housemates murmuring about him.

"Snape..." Lucius Malfoy was looking angrily at Snape as he walked as if he owned the place.

The students who had attacked him the previous day had already returned from the infirmary, looking at Snape with a new level of hatred.

But Snape seemed oblivious to this as he approached Horace Slughorn, who was reading his notebook and writing. His gaze turned to the student as he looked surprised.

"Snape?! What are you doing here? I haven't had time to send your proposal to my acquaintances about your potion yet..." He imagined that Snape was there for that reason, as the class hadn't started yet.

"I'm not here for that, professor. I want to change my extracurricular class, which is currently Divination. I wrote this formal letter as soon as I returned to my dormitory yesterday. This is my official request for a class change." He said, and Professor Slughorn looked surprised and took the letter, reading to see if his request was correct.

"Well, this is a bit unexpected. Usually, the deadline ends in two weeks, but since you didn't come in the first week, I could do this for you," he said, and Snape nodded, satisfied not having to return to the class where the teacher said he would fight a war in this world and all that nonsense.

"Thank you, Professor Slughorn." He said and began to leave the room while the students still kept their eyes on him.

"Snape!" he heard a female voice and saw Andromeda beside Narcissa, who was also looking at him.

"..." Snape looked at her for a moment while the girl waved at him excitedly, and he nodded with a slight nod before leaving the room.

"He is so cute..." Andromeda said in a lovestruck tone, while her sister rolled her eyes at this.

Snape continued on his way, passing another dark-haired girl near the door without looking at her, as he headed towards the library.

"How strange..." Bellatrix turned her attention back as she saw Snape walking away after passing her with an air of superiority. She watched him from behind, not knowing who he was, then turned her attention back to the class, approaching her sister, before falling silent as Andromeda said something foolish to Narcissa, who was still angry after their previous argument.

Snape entered the restricted section, ignoring his blood relative, and read his books as always for the rest of the morning.

At noon, he visited the kitchen. Dumbledore was going to make another announcement about the new professor in the Great Hall, while Snape was watching the Graphorn eating as the house-elves continued feeding the animal.

"You'll kill it like that," Snape couldn't help but mutter.

"OHHHH!" The animal seemed to protest at Snape's words, as if it was fine with eating so much food and still surprised that the elves wouldn't send the leftovers to the students.

"He likes it a lot!"

"Let's give him more."

"Yes, I'm sure Mr. Snape will like the Graphorn growing strong!"

"Mr. Snape, does he have a name?" A house-elf approached Snape.

"No..." Snape hadn't thought about it yet.

"You must give him a name, so we can call him by it!" They demanded.

"I'll think about it..." he said, turning his attention back to the elves. "I want to practice magic. I need a large place. Can you tell me where I can do this without being disturbed?" Snape asked as all the elves looked at him at that moment.

"He needs us!" They all shouted and began advancing towards Snape.

"Don't even think about it." Snape spoke calmly, already knowing what that army of elves would do as his eyes gleamed again, scaring them all.

"He's angry!!" They shouted simultaneously.

"Just tell me, one of you, or one at a time," Snape demanded while even the Graphorn looked confused at the frightened elves.

One elf decided to step forward, looking at Snape. "There is a secret room in a mirror beside the main staircase, on the ground floor..." they said, and Snape nodded.

"That sounds good. I'll check it out. Can you guide me when I get there?" Snape asked.

"Yes, Mr. Snape, just call for Dobei. I will be there to assist you!" he informed with some courage, and Snape nodded.

"You want to stay here, don't you?" Snape turned his attention to the Graphorn once more, which made a sound affirming it.

"Alright, but I'll fetch you in the afternoon. If anyone discovers there's a Graphorn cub in the kitchen, you'll be sent somewhere else, and I wouldn't be able to help you," Snape warned and left the kitchen.

His goal was the room, after all, he wanted to find it as soon as possible to aid in his personal training.

Going to the main staircase, he took the right side as he descended and indeed found the mirror the house-elf had mentioned.

"Dobei," Snape said, and the elf appeared the next moment.

"Dobei is here to help Mr. Snape!" He seemed excited and looked at the mirror, instructing Snape to press a part of the mirror's frame. Snape did so, and the mirror began to open at that moment. Snape nodded and entered, looking at the enormous space in front of him, so large it must have been 100 square meters, with the only defect being the pillars that composed the room.

Even so, Snape nodded. "This is great. It will be a good place," Snape nodded with a slight smile.
