Chapter 23: Argument

"Since Yahiko became the leader of Amegakure, spies from all major countries have been ambushing around Amegakure. It took a lot of effort for me to find them."

"The Akatsuki organization has some good people recently. I have discussed with Hanzo that some good ninjas can join ANBU to perform some tasks. After training, they can join the Akatsuki."

"Now in Akatsuki, I want them to take the elite path." Nagato spoke fluently.

After hearing this, Yahiko pondered for a moment, then nodded, agreeing to his plan.

"By the way, I haven't seen you for a few days. Where have you been, Satoru?" This time, Nagato turned and asked Satoru.

Yahiko stood up, "I assigned Satoru a mission last time, and he just completed it and returned today."

"A mission?" Nagato shifted his gaze while thinking.

"It's already late." Yahiko said to Satoru, "It must have been a tough journey. You should go and rest first."

Satoru nodded, greeted Nagato and the others, then turned and left.

"That guy." Nagato suddenly turned and stared sharply at Yahiko. His voice was low and strong: "He's been idle all day, and hasn't seen the end of it. Yahiko, I really don't understand, why do you still defend him?"

Yahiko was about to sit down when he heard this, his body froze, and his eyes showed deep astonishment. He looked at Nagato, trying to understand his sudden anger.

"We go in and out of the village every day, doing countless tasks, and working hard for the peace and prosperity of Amegakure. But what about him?" Nagato's words came out like a string of words.

"He seems to feel that everything in the village has nothing to do with him, and he doesn't care about the village's affairs at all!"

He paused, and his tone showed strong dissatisfaction: "You say you gave him a task? For someone like him, I really doubt if he can complete a simple task!"

Nagato's emotions became even more restless, and he continued: "In my opinion, he's not even as good as an ordinary villager. At least they know how to work hard to survive!"

He finally uttered the sentence coldly: "I really feel like Satoru is like a big baby who will never grow up!"

Hearing Nagato's accusations, Yahiko's eyes sparkled with shock and disbelief.

He stared at him, trying to understand his sudden anger.

"Nagato, how can you be influenced by outside voices?" Yahiko said slowly, with a hint of helplessness and concern in his voice, "I know that there are indeed many people in the Akatsuki organization who are dissatisfied with Satoru and think that he doesn't contribute. But have you ever thought that this is just appearance?"

Nagato snorted coldly and interrupted his words: "Akatsuki organization? Huh, those dissatisfied voices are conveyed to them by me."

He stared directly at Yahiko.

Yahiko's figure froze, and a little surprise appeared in his eyes. He didn't expect Nagato to openly admit it.

"I told the people from the Akatsuki organization that Satoru does nothing all day, just eats in the village and waits for death." Nagato's tone showed strong dissatisfaction and disappointment, "Do you forget, Yahiko? We were trapped last time, where was Satoru?"

His words were like sharp arrows, piercing Yahiko's heart.

"If Hanzo hadn't realized it in time and destroyed the Konoha ninjas, maybe you, me, and Konan would all have died there!" Nagato became more and more excited, his voice full of anger and regret.

However, before he could finish speaking, Yahiko suddenly roared: "Enough!"

His voice showed strong anger and dissatisfaction, stopping Nagato from speaking.

Their conversation reached a dead end, and the atmosphere became very tense.

Yahiko's eyes emitted complex emotions, while Nagato stared at him intently, waiting for his answer.

"Stop talking, Nagato." Yahiko looked at him and suddenly realized that the man in front of him was very strange.

"You don't know what he's doing. Satoru."

Nagato waved his hand: "What is he doing?"

"Are you going to tell me that he completed this mission brilliantly?"

"Are you going to say that Amegakure can't do without him?"

"Or has he made extraordinary contributions to the village?"

"Yahiko, stop making excuses for him, Satoru, he's a coward!"

Yahiko clenched his fists and blood vessels appeared on his forehead.

"He..."

"Get out of here!"

He slammed his hand on the table and roared.

Nagato swallowed what he was about to say.

The two figures stood facing each other in the office, forming a contrasting picture.

Yahiko turned his back to the window, and the sunlight illuminated him through the window, spreading his shadow to touch the entire room.

Nagato stood in front of him, his shadow slowly lengthening in the darkness, in stark contrast to Yahiko's shadow under the sunlight.

Nagato spoke, his voice low and strong, full of confidence and determination: "Yahiko, I hope you can understand that only I can save everyone. I am the savior of this world."

He reached out his hand and pointed to his flickering Rinnegan eyes, seemingly containing endless power.

He continued: "Only I can change this world."

Nagato's eyes were fixed on Yahiko, waiting for his answer.

Yahiko did not answer immediately, he looked at him calmly, with a complex light shining in his eyes.

Their eyes met.

"Nagato, I really didn't expect you to think that way."

A bitter smile appeared on Yahiko's lips, and his eyes showed deep disappointment and helplessness.

He sighed softly, his eyes full of concern: "Nagato, you're really too tired and stressed lately. I hope you can rest well in the village and adjust."

Nagato didn't answer. He turned soundlessly and left the office with heavy steps.

Neither of them gave a clear answer, but their answers seemed to be hidden in their actions and their eyes.

After Nagato left, Yahiko turned around and quietly stared at the raindrops outside the window.

His heart was filled with complex emotions. In the midst of the pouring rain, he sighed softly.

And where none of them realized it, a shadow quietly disappeared from the office door and merged with the rain curtain.
