Back at the mansion, Baia began to focus on dealing with those books. It could only be said that she knew all those words... No, there were many technical terms she didn't recognize at all, let alone what they meant when spelled out.

As the sun began to set, Ais placed her front paws on the table and gently licked the sleeping girl's face.

Baia's eyelashes fluttered a few times, pushing aside the piles of materials on the table, and she sat up in shock.

"Why are you sleeping here?" Tim took away the book Baia had just been using as a pillow, glanced at the title, "TNM Staging of Malignant Tumors," and couldn't believe that the little girl could understand any of it.

"Ah, Tim," Baia wiped away the traces of Ais's saliva from her face and said in frustration, "I was reading here. Well, actually, I was just trying to do something that's impossible to succeed in."

Tim sat down beside Baia and casually flipped through the book in his hand.

He didn't seem much older than Baia, but he gave off an inexplicable sense of reliability.

"I heard from Dick," he said, "in case you didn't realize, Professor Green obviously just wanted you to give up, so he gave you a bunch of impossible tasks."

"If I give up, he wins," Baia sighed.

"Don't want to lose?" Tim pretended to consider for a moment. "Well, I'll help you."

Baia immediately brightened up, but then seemed hesitant. "Really? But... you're usually busy, right? You have to take care of Wayne Group's affairs."

"True," Tim closed the book, saying nonchalantly, "so you'd better be a good student at least."

Soon, Tim discovered that Baia could be surprisingly stubborn at times, and she absolutely refused to give up, just like a stubborn Kansas mule - the short-legged kind that's hard to deal with. Or maybe this mansion just had some kind of magic that made everyone who settled here share similar traits.

"It's okay, we can try this part again. These are indeed quite difficult," Tim comforted her. "I also took a few minutes to understand it."

The system grumbled, "Is this Versailles? Huh?"

Baia replied, "Whether Tim is Versailles or not, I don't know, but you're annoying. Can't you see I'm studying?"

The system retorted, "You're really turning a blind eye to everything? Shameless!"

The best way to deal with a sanctioning system was to ignore it. Tim then spent some time with Baia going over the materials before they were called to dinner by Alfred.

After all, Tim was human, not a kryptonian plant that could restore energy just by basking in the sun, and medicine was completely unrelated to what he was good at. He stretched his body, squinted his blue eyes, and showed a visible expression of fatigue.

For him, this was just a routine, but it made Baia feel guilty.

The upgrading effect of [Golden Oriole]: If the friendly target's health is at 100% and there are no negative status effects, their mental and physical states are reset to their optimal levels. This effect can be triggered once every 2 hours for the same target.

The skill upgrades for Golden Oriole, Moon Dew, and Song of the Angels each require 5, 15, and 20 points respectively.

Since Nightwing's favorability had reached the standard, it provided exactly 5 points.

Baia upgraded the Golden Oriole and applied it to Tim.

Tim froze.

"What was that?" Tim turned his head, a hint of excitement in his calm expression. He felt unusually good now, as if he had slept for 10 hours and just finished a morning run. His mind was incredibly agile. "Did you use some kind of magic on me?"

Baia cautiously looked at him. "Sort of...? It's just something to refresh your mind. Don't you like it?"

"No, you're amazing, my little witch," Tim's immediate impulse was to rush to his study and open his laptop. "Tell Alfred I won't—"

"You mean you definitely won't want to skip dinner, right?" Alfred's leisurely voice came from the doorway.

Threatened by the butler's authority, Tim had no choice but to suppress the urge to deal with all the problems he had encountered before, and sat down at the dining table with a look of regret.

For him, the best moment of the day had to be spent at the dining table, which was simply a waste of time.

Baia looked expressionlessly at the system panel, where the red bird's favorability soared from 40% to 60%.

The system complained, "Is this conclusive evidence?"

Baia replied coldly, making the system intuitively feel that someone was about to be unlucky.

"Great. Please make sure to use that on me every time you see me, please," Bruce said.

Ironically, the person in the house who disliked magic the most was Bruce.

In their previous work with the League, Zatanna had once attempted to use magic to erase part of his memory, which almost directly led to the rupture of their friendship. Although things had eased slightly now, this incident remained a thorn in Bruce's heart.

Dick and Tim, on the other hand, maintained a relatively neutral attitude, especially Tim, who knew a girl who was the daughter of a magician.

Just as drinking too much coffee could be uncomfortable, being able to cheat with magic was something Bruce would welcome.

Currently, Bruce was facing other challenges.

As he lowered his head, the Wayne patriarch felt something black and fuzzy leap onto his leg.

Ais, seeking steak from Tim, performed an action that the great detective observed carefully.

The Great Detective: Learned something.

Although Baia doted on the Great Detective, she didn't feed it human food, which was too salty for cats.

Bruce stared at the dark, furry thing on his leg, and it stared back at him.

It let out a meow.

The Great Detective obviously had two misconceptions about this situation: first, it had chosen Bruce, who was the least likely to indulge cats and dogs at home; second, this was supposed to be some kind of secret deal, where if it kept quiet, Bruce might even give in to the big cat to keep the peace, but—

But everyone heard something meow on Bruce's leg.

Bruce set down his utensils, squinted, and lifted the cat up by its front legs, still firmly planted on his leg with its hind legs.

...A very long cat.

"Cat," Bruce said, "go eat your own food."

This was the tone of command used by the League's advisors during combat.

The Great Detective flattened its ears, wriggled a few times, and ran off.

"God, sorry," Baia said, holding her head in pain with her hand, "the Great Detective always—"

Bruce promptly changed the subject, "I think it can have a name change. How about Black Coal?"

This was something Bruce had planned for a long time. Ever since he found out that the cat was called the Great Detective, he had been thinking about renaming it.

Tim seemed to choke, "Cough, actually..."

Dick had given up concealing his joy, laughing heartlessly, "Actually, the Great Detective is fine, really."

As a result, they received disapproving looks from the world's first and second detectives simultaneously.

After dinner, Tim was still in a state of high spirits and immediately went back to his room to deal with things alone. He outlined the key points for Baia, which she should find relatively easy to understand.

After all, with Professor Green and the doctors from Gotham Hospital, Baia didn't need to master any surgical skills in the true sense, nor did she need to understand any diseases other than Nora's.

She just needed to understand all the relevant concepts and terms, understand the treatment options that doctors might choose, and then be able to help them in her own way.

However, although there was still a certain gap in understanding between Baia and Tim—he was a genius who could discover Batman's true identity without relying on any external force—Baia's talent in this area was indeed not bad.

She really should go to school, maybe become a good surgeon.

After dinner, Baia found Bruce for the first time.

Meeting him alone made Baia a little nervous. She was clearly not afraid of Dick, and Tim was not as difficult to approach as she had imagined, but Bruce Wayne? The newspapers said he was a witty and charming Gotham darling, but in Baia's experience, he was completely inscrutable.

Or maybe it was a kind of parental authority.

"Um," Baia stuttered, "uh, Bruce, are you free now?"

"Of course," Bruce smiled a little, somewhat surprised that Baia would come to him on her own. "Do you have something to say to me?"

"Thank you for compensating me for the money for the old apartment," Baia placed a small black velvet bag in his hand, "I want to give this to you."

Bruce opened it and immediately recognized the pink diamond he had been tracking for a long time.

"Abigail's Heart," the pure and flawless rose maiden.

So Selina really did give it away.

But why did he feel like the girl was trying to draw a line between them?

He half crouched down to look at her. "If it's because of this, you don't need to give me anything. I've said it before, as long as you're willing, you're part of this family. Remember?"

"Really?" There seemed to be emotions hiding in those translucent light green eyes, but Bruce could see that Baia was genuinely seeking confirmation from him.

This must be very important to her.

Is she lacking a sense of security? She doesn't have family in Gotham.

"Really, I promise," Bruce said gently.

Baia gathered her courage and asked, "Do you have anything else you want to say to me?"

Afraid it wasn't clear enough, she hinted, "Did Dick tell you about... um, my special ability?"

Bruce didn't know how to react for a moment.

"Never mind, it's okay." Without waiting long, Baia's enthusiasm faded. "It's useless for me to hold onto this anyway. If you don't want it, just consider it as helping me keep it safe."

The girl brushed the carpet with her toe and walked away with her hands behind her back.

Although she pretended to be nonchalant, she seemed a bit down.

Bruce hesitated to speak, several times wanting to call out to Baia, but in the end, he didn't say anything.
