Chapter 6: SWAT Raid

Inside the hotel, Zed was surrounded by SWAT units as they planned how to breach. Zed was located on the top floor of the hotel, which had only one entrance. Their plan was to breach directly through the front door.

While SWAT units positioned themselves in front of Zed's suite, he slept peacefully, relying on his wealth to resolve all his problems. The SWAT units spent a minute at the door, preparing.

Then, one of the officers used a battering ram to smash the door open. After the door flew open, they quickly rushed inside, securing the living room before moving toward the bedroom. They positioned themselves and breached on a count of three."Get down on the ground! Show us your hands!" yelled an officer, pointing his gun equipped with a flashlight at Zed.

Confused by the commotion, Zed quickly complied with the officer's request and lay down, though he was ready to use his skills if necessary.

"Zed Atlas, you are now under arrest for the murder of your own father and mother and the abduction of your sister," the officer stated as he handcuffed Zed, who was lying on the ground.

"Wait, what? MY PARENTS ARE KILLED?" Zed screamed, wanting to escape and learn what was happening, but he knew better than to mess with the police department. The officers closely watched Zed's reaction to the news, and it seemed like he was hearing it for the first time.

After helping him up, they moved downstairs. There, at the main entrance, which was swarmed by reporters, the sight of the suspect arriving caused all cameras to flash instantly while they tried to ask questions. At that moment, Zed was lost in his thoughts. 'How could I make such a stupid mistake? Why didn't I use my money to protect them? ZED, YOU'RE AN IDIOT! No WAIT—they said my sister was kidnapped. Where is she?' Remembering his sister snapped Zed back to reality as officers helped him climb into the back of an armored vehicle.

"I want to call my lawyer."

"Once we get to the station, you can use the phone," the officer replied, without even looking at him.

After half an hour's journey, they arrived at the police station. With escorts on both sides, Zed walked inside. After taking his mugshot and fingerprints, they showed him the phone he could use. Dialing the number, he called his lawyer.

"This is Yavuz's personal cellphone. Who is this?" Yavuz asked, uncertain about the caller's identity.

"Hey Yavuz, it's me, Zed. I'm going to need your help sooner than I expected," he said with a hoarse voice.

Sensing something was off, Yavuz got up from his bed and said, "Okay, I'm leaving my house now. I'll be there in ten minutes; don't speak to anyone until I get there." Then he left the house, got into his car, and drove off towards the police station.

Ten minutes later, he arrived at the police station and requested to speak with his client as he barged into the interrogation room. They respected his choice, but they also noted another suspicious thing: Yavuz is famous, and every officer knows him, and they also know how much he costs. From the financial information they got about Zed and his family, hiring such a lawyer couldn't be Zed's doing.

After the officers left, Zed and Yavuz were alone in the interrogation room.

"Tell me what happened, Zed," Yavuz asked while opening his notebook.

"Someone killed my family, and obviously I'm the primary suspect. I told them I wasn't near my parents' house today or yesterday, but they didn't listen," Zed said to Yavuz.

"I'm so sorry for your losses, Zed," Yavuz said as he placed one of his hands on his shoulder to comfort him. "Do you have any way of proving your location at the time of the incident?" Yavuz asked while taking notes.

"I was with you before that, and I also have a plane ticket from Philadelphia to here. After that, I went directly to the hotel room. I think these should be enough to prove my innocence."

"Okay, then we have a solid alibi. Don't worry, Zed; I'll handle this quickly so you can go back and deal with it. I just need the names of places you have been to get their camera footage." Yavuz said as he started writing down the company names Zed gave him.

The next morning, Zed was sitting inside the cell, waiting for his innocence to be proven. At the same time, Zed also browsed through the shop for a skill needed to resurrect his family.

Right now, Zed's coin balance was 18,000 following his last payment for the acquisition of the Valor & Venture Law Group.

After ten minutes of browsing, the only skill available to him was the Resurrection of the Dawn.

This skill was the only one without side effects other than one-time usage every month. Zed thought about buying this one, but he wasn't sure if he would be able to revive both his parents and probably his sister too. Other than having the skill to bring his dead loved ones back, he also wants the skill to torture those who hurt his family, and he has a guess as to who's responsible.

Then suddenly, Zed remembered seeing the first divine skill, which had the power element of life. It only required 8,000 coins, and if it's like the description, then he can revive his family. Filtering the shop, he quickly found the skill and bought it.

Zed was bombarded with notifications after notifications and was shocked at what the system was telling him. If the awakening of the gods is something he thinks it is, then the real problem was just on his way.

While Zed was looking at his new powers and learning about them, across the world, a total of twelve people stopped what they were doing because of the memories rushing into their brains.

And the words they all spoke first were "I'm back?".
