Chapter 113: 113 - Obligation

"I am obliged to do nothing."

Upon hearing Annabelle's words, a jolt of defiance shot through Julian. The omega stopped in his tracks, his jaw clenching involuntarily.

"No," he said.

Annabelle's gaze sharpened, pinning Julian like a butterfly under glass. And yet the latter held her stare stubbornly, refusing to give in even an inch.

"Why not?"

"Why should I?" Julian challenged the question with another.

Annabelle crossed her arms before her chest and arched her brow at Julian. Apparently, Julian needed her to spell it out for him.

"My son has yet to reach his twenty-eighth year, but he almost died last night, leaving no children to continue his legacy. Taking into consideration that you are committed to each other, shouldn't you be pregnant right now?"
