Chapter 7: New Purpose
Why do people fight?
Ever since That conversation he had with his father is views have changed dramatically. It raises a valid question that all human beings needed purpose to exist.
But that also raise is a question that what is his purpose in this world? He is a guy who have no memory of his past got reincarnated incarnated with a system into a world of harems and boob's.
But what is the thing that he fights for? The only memory that he has anime,Manga and comics and other fictional staff. And in those same Manga and comics the protagonist always fights for a reason.
Most common being protecting the people close to the protagonist. And he situation is like that of those fanfics protagonist who get reincarnated with a system and they most of the time fight for themselves trying to level up and form a harem of beautfull woman's.
But if kage is being honest with himself he doesn't want a life like that. But at the same time car get didn't know what he truly wanted in his life.
He is the pure definition of a lost sold in this case. At first he won also like those protagonist wanted to level up and become an powerful being that no one can push around.
But it turns out that it is not that easy and he almost lost all hopes during the process. But now he knows that he just like that driving factor that pushes him forward and gives him the motivation that he needs.
He always curse those protagonist after his defeated by Ken that they could beat there Enemies by some bullshit power of friendship thing. He truly thought that that was a complete Bull crap in the end nothing more than plot armour to be honest.
By now he see things differently...
What is those protagonist were not fighting because of the friend they were fighting FOR the friend. They wanted to protect those closest to them at all cost and that's what drives them.
Could it be that is answer that he needs in order to beat Ken?
As kage thought this he once again entered the dojo there he met sensor sitting in a traditional Japanese fashion. As if he was expecting him to come at this time.
"So, you came again... Are you expecting a different result now? " sensai asked
Kage nodded his head and looked at his fist "Yeah, l was hoping so at least" he truly didn't know how it will turn out in the end. Maybe he could win this or maybe it could turn into another defeat breaking his will even further.
"Have you found it yet?" kage was confused by his question and just said "Huh? "
"Have you found your reason to fight?" sensei asked him.
"I... Think so I did... " he was a little embarrassed to say this because he would sound like a typical anime protagonist.
"And that is? " sensei asked with a raised eyebrow
"...I want to protect my loved ones... " he said in a quite tone as kages face was completely red.
"Was your father this embarrassed to say this aswell? "
"What do you mean by that?"
"I mean was your father was embarrassed to admit that he is a protector and provider for his family even though that meant sacrificing his dreams?" sensei asked again with putting more emphasis in his words
This made kage think his father proudly proclaimed to be a family man. A man who loves and cherises his family whole heartedly. He was never ashamed to say that he loved both him and his mother. And that was the very reason why he respected him in the first place because he is a man of great dignity, honor and pride.
He was in that sense a true man not some YouTube wannabe influencers with think that changing girlfriends every 10 day makes them masculine. No, he is more than that and that is exactly what kage wanted to be as well to be a protector of his family.
What use is this power if you can't use it to help those closest to you? The answer is absolutely nothing!
"I... No, I am not ashamed of being a protector! " kage said this with great conviction with a burning fire in his eyes
Seeing this sensei smiled at the young man and then he said "Good and remember don't let this new found purpose to just motivate you but you should instead dedicate yourself to this new found purpose"
"Huh? What do you mean by that?" kage asked in confusion as he didn't quite understand what sensei was trying to say here.
"What I meant that you may feel motivated to do something for a few days or months even but after that when you motivation is lost you lose focus and the drive aswell. But...
When you dedicate yourself for something and you dedicated yourself for life only then you will see true results" sensei said as kage seems to understand
"Remember young shadow(Kage) that motivation is temporary but dedication to your goals are permanent"
Kage smiled at his words and nodded his head, he will remember those words as long as he is alive.
"Now go shadow(kage) your destiny awaits you" sensei said as kage nodded his head again.
"Right! " as kage said that he got reported to the battle field.
(In the battle field)
"so, you came back again young kage your persistence is truly commendable I will give you that" Ken said with a smile on his face but kage didn't respond to that instead he had a serious face.
"Hoo... Aren't going to talk are you? " Ken taunted but kage didn't reply instead he only cracked his knuckles and got into a fighting stance
Seeing this Ken also got into a fighting stance. Then without any warning both of them charged at each other again. This time kage was much faster than before as he clashed with Ken head on.
Because of combat manipulation all the times he fought with Ken he has already adapted to his strength and skills. But now he is going to defeat him for good.
They expected punches while Ken couldn't get a proper hit on kage because of his smaller size but kage couldn't hit Ken wither because the said person is much taller than him.
Kage jumped up and threw a roundhouse kick to kens face which he was managed to block effortlessly. Ken was smiling during the whole match and he was suprised when he saw a different type of fire in his opponents eyes.
But he decided to put that aside and focus on the battle, with this time Ken took the offensive path. He was easily managing to put kage in a defensive position.
He was clearly trying to overwhelm him with constant attacks but kage had different thoughts on mind.
He remembered what sensei and his father told him. About his new found conviction to protect those closest to him.
Kage realised why he needed this power he lives in a world where supernaturals run without any restrictions. They can kill as many humans as they want, make slaves out of them or do what ever they fell like.
Not to mention there are psycho paths like vali's grandfather with his army of immortal evil dragons or thrihexa or even the ExE gods. He needed the full strength of shadow fight franchise to defeat them.
But he also realised how much of a treat they are to the world and his parents in general. This whole time he was fighting for a very selfish reason but now he will fight for a cause greater than himself.
He will not give up until he wins!
"THIS IS OVER!" Ken shouted as he was about to finish kage with a powerful punch but to his surprise kage blocked the punch. Kage raised his head as he looked Ken in the eyes with a fierce determination in them and said a single word.
"...No"
