Chapter 217: SEPARATED FROM CEDRIC

We all stood in waiting as the mountain cave entrance was shrouded in darkness, and the silence was only broken by the distant drip of water. The air was thick with the stench of mining gold and the cold wall of Mount Sith.

The guttural growl echoed around us, as the creature walked in, eyes like burning coals, set deep in a face twisted with malice. Its skin was an uneven patchwork of fur and its mouth filled with dripping saliva and blood.

The creature's elongated limbs ended in sharp, talon-like claws that scraped against the cave floor, creating a sound reminiscent of the mining sounds in the mountain. It widened its mouth, filled with rows of needle-like teeth, gaped open in a snarl and we listened to the scared gasps and whimpers of the army guards behind us.
