Caroline didn't say a word until they came to Vanessa's room.
Vanessa's words were always vague and not targeted at all. It was as if she was describing something instead of blaming anyone.
Vanessa's room on the third floor was huge. There was a small living space equipped with a coffee table, sofa and television. The bed was located after the living space. The room was kept clean and tidy.
Vanessa did not close the door. She gestured Caroline to sit down. After that, she sat down opposite Caroline.
A tea set with some tea bags was ready on the coffee table. Vanessa then started to make tea.
She rinsed two teacups in the boiling water before placing one of them in front of Caroline.
"Miss Simons, I'm Eddison's mother. I think you don't need me to prove it anymore, am I right?" Vanessa asked faintly, with a light smile on her face.
Caroline nodded and replied, "Yes, I know you are Eddison's mother."
She had to behave politely although she knew Vanessa didn't like her.
