Claudia's hand was clenched into a fist.

"Caroline, he's putting his life on the line for you. You have no right to claim that you believe him. You are squandering his life!" Claudia whispered in a hushed tone.

Caroline simply offered Claudia an indifferent sideways glance rather than turning her head to gaze at Claudia.

"I believe in his true potential and respect his decision. That's all there is to it," Caroline whispered softly, looking at Eddison.

"Huh! Do you believe in his strength? Have you ever gone to the shooting range with him? How can you claim that you believe in his strength if you'd never witnessed it?" Claudia asked.

Eddison had already had his eyes on the target when Claudia stated this.

It was eerily silent everywhere. Everyone stopped whatever they were doing, and their gazes were riveted on Eddison.
