I was in a mysterious place.
I didn't know where I was or how long I was there. I just new, I was waiting for a long time. Then finally, I started hearing something.
An animal? it sounded like a rodent for all I knew. I can only hear it squeaking as it moved closer to me. Then after a while, I felt like it was finally next to me. Inspecting me. Smelling me. Hearing me. Then finally, touching me. That was when I suddenly started to "see" anything at all. But it wasn't even me seeing, so much as me using the being's eyes and "looking" THROUGH it. Then its memories start to flood into me. I realized what it was.
It was a bat. And it was looking at me. And what I could see, froze me.
I was a symbiote.
It felt like I could breathe again, the moment it touched me. And I somehow latched into it. I finally had a host. A freakin host. Non human as it was.. it still gave me a temporary way to survive.
While I try to get into its body completely, I searched my memories.. What the hell happened to me?
Then came the memories. Or at least some of it.
I lived only a short distance from the CERN super collider. And someone fucked up. Next thing I knew, a bright explosion and here I am. A symbiote, no longer human, no body, and no connection somehow. I searched myself and found no connection to any other symbiotes, or to knull. Which leads me to believe either I was forgotten, or awed that I am somehow able to tell... I was the only symbiote here. I felt alone.
But I remained focused. I grabbed onto the only living thing i could touch. A bat.
I hid inside its body and consciousness. For now, I am along for the ride.
I realized pretty quickly that the creature I latched onto should have stopped flying after a few hours to rest but it kept going because it never felt tired. Because I was boosting its strength and stamina. It flew hours and hours. I never recognized the place or city. I was still after all.. a bit in denial that I died. By the time I had accepted it, the bat had entered a cave.
But this cave was no natural cave. At least not completely. Half of it was artificial. The ceilings were natural. But the floor was of metal. Someone built something.
As the bat finally settled in the ceiling of the cave, I saw a man.
He was sitting in front of what looked like a high tech gaming rig. With several monitors. And he was wearing an outfit that I recognized. He was wearing what looked like a tactical agent outfit when he's on a special mission or something. He wore a simple ski mask.
I felt my imaginary heart beat faster as i thought...
"It can't be...could it?"
Then another man, older came by and asked him.
"Would you like to eat your dinner now or shall I leave it here while you brood for another hour Master Bruce?"
I felt like I got struck by lightning.
"Holy brooding billionaires! Its fucking Batman!"
