The Mastermind Unveiled

Drop a review, please, it helps a lot :>

Also, did you know tha–

Did you forget I had an inventory?

When I came out of the dungeon, my inventory was filled 3/4 slots.

2 slots were the gems that I borrowed from the statue's eyes.

The third slot had the amulet - Null, which I found inside the Ruins.

Now, it is filled 2/4 slots, I sold both the gems, after making sure that they were nothing too special. They both fetched quite a good price.

One slot is taken up by the amulet, still.

While the second slot is taken up by the drives which contain the information I stole before committing arson.

The working of the inventory function is really confusing and complex if you ask me.

You can only put one 'object' into one 'slot'.

But, what is counted as an object?

For example, I could only put one pen drive inside a slot, which would not be enough.

So, I put all the pen drives inside a box, and then stored the box, which surprisingly worked.

The inventory is another thing which I have to test the limits of.

It would be so fun if I could just store a mansion in it.

Imagine threatening someone "If you don't give me the money I'll steal your mansion!"

Anyhow, I found myself sleeping on the couch I sat in last night.

I repositioned myself to sit on the couch, finding a maid come to me with some coffee.

She placed the cup on top of a plate, the aroma of freshly made coffee reaching my nose.

.

I was now sitting inside my room.

My parents were sitting outside in the garden, talking with each other and doing some work, this meant that they would not disturb me.

I opened my computer and put on headphones.

Taking the box out of my inventory, I started to view the files on my computer.

One by one, I scouted each drive, the information I got feeling more overwhelming as I kept going.

After about 3 hours, I stopped.

I had gone through not even 5% of the information, yet I was starting to have a headache.

Ganglords, drug deals, human trafficking, all the disgusting information was thrown onto me at once.

I decided to take a break, putting the drives back into my inventory, I went out, ordering a maid to bring coffee jelly.

.

It has been 3 days, and I have completely gone through the information I felt important.

The files I went through were about 10% of the total, but they contained enough information for me to be fulfilled with the findings.

Best of all, I found some big stuff.

"Aiden Arceid, huh?" I muttered, this guy was the Head of the Hunter Association, and also the one who orchestrated Anny's death, the assassination of the royal family of England, and many other things.

Moreover, he had Seraphina Nightshade working under him, providing him information.

I had unknowingly cut off a limb of this man, and he will definitely come after me soon.

He also might decide to stay quiet and see what moves I, the one who has all the information, make.

There was also a lot of information about me, apparently this guy has had his eyes on me for a long time.

Also, I found some . . . questionable stuff that my father did.

And this stuff might cause me, as well as my family, some trouble in the future.

Well, that is for the future me to handle.

Right now, I am content with the information I possess, I copied all the important information to a new drive for safekeeping and backup.

.

If you were wondering why I took such a risky approach of killing the Nightshade sisters and stealing the information . . .

It was because I only had a week before choosing whether to join the Hunter Association as a hunter, train under them, or to work independently.

I suspected that some corrupt higher-up in the Association was working in the shadows, and it would be unsafe for me to work under him.

But now that I know that it is the Head himself, I would definitely not want to join the Association as a Hunter and become a simple pawn for him to control.

POV: Aiden Arceid

"Seraphina Nightshade, huh?" I muttered as I got the news of the rat's death.

She was one of my most important pieces, giving me all the information I required without complaint.

Seraphina Nightshade as well as Dravenna Nightshade were killed on the same night, in the same way.

A hole passing from the middle of their foreheads to the back of their heads, going straight through the brain, resulting in instant death.

The guards reported that Seraphina Nightshade had brought an unidentified man with her a few hours following her sister's death.

Her information server was logged in to and all the information was completely wiped.

All the physical documents were burned along with her body.

The guards were able to put out the fire before the body sustained too much damage, this allowed investigation to be done.

The investigation only raised more questions, there was no sign of mana on either of the sisters' wounds.

"He unknowingly cut off one of my limbs, huh?" I said out loud, responding to which Zekuth, who was sitting in front of me, just sighed.

"I'm pretty sure it was his, Ryomen Sukuna's, works." I said, amusement clear in my voice.

If it really was his work, then he would have already found out about me.

I am really curious about his next move.

My priority is to find out which side he will take.

Our fight can be postponed until our work is done.

All the work I put into conquering England will not be put to waste.

"What should we do now?" Zekuth asked, his voice clearly indicating uncertainty.

"We wait . . ." I said, my voice barely a whisper.

" . . . We wait for his next move."

POV: Azrol Ryomen

It is a quiet and peaceful day, there is slight cloud cover, which caused filtered sunlight to come through to reach us.

I was sitting in my garden on a table along with my wife.

She was reading a book, the unbothered expression on her face made me feel calm as well.

But the current situation was not ideal at all.

There have been many unforeseen situations and events in the recent times.

Just 3 days ago, the owners of the biggest spy network, Shade, were killed, all of the information they possessed stolen.

The consequences were already appearing, especially in the underworld.

I was myself nervous, because if the actions I did in the past come out to the public, then we might lose all the support we have.

An even more unnerving topic was that my son, Sukuna, had disappeared to go on a 'stroll' that exact night.

I could not help but suspect him, but I am not accusing him.

If he did commit the act, I just hope that he does not expose me or his mother, and sides with us.

I sighed and fell back onto my seat, looking up to the sky at the bird soaring above without a worry in its mind.

I could feel my wife looking at me worriedly.

"Do you think it was him?" I murmured, my voice barely a whisper, still looking upwards.

"Probably," she said, I could hear her closing the book and placing it on the table.

"Do you think he will–"

"Don't worry about that," She cut me off from speaking of my fears.

She knew of all my secrets and still supported me to this day, and I vowed to do the same for her.

"I believe that he will support us, he has always been like that," She said, her voice showing unwavering confidence and belief in our son.

As we were talking, I could feel someone walking towards us.

I looked to the side.

'Sukuna,' we both thought at the same time.

He was walking towards us with careful steps, not taking his gaze off us.

He walked right up to the table, and sat on an empty chair, facing us both.

His face was serious, more than I had ever seen before.

"Father, mother," He said, his voice carrying a subtle pressure which caused both of us to straighten up.

He usually called us 'dad' and 'mom'.

Referring to us in such a formal manner basically shouts that the situation is important.

My suspicion of him being the killer of the sisters was being reinforced every second.

We both were waiting for his next words with a mixture of anticipation, nervousness, and fear.

"I have to ask for a favor from you both" He said, the seriousness in his voice not wavering in the slightest.

We both looked at each other, communicating wordlessly, then at him, and nodded.

He took a deep breath and continued . . .
