Chapter 103 - The Malekith War Part 4

POV: Baldur

Throne Room, Asgard

One Hour Later.

"No!"

That was the only word I didn't expect my father to say. I came here to ask him to let my army use the Bifrost to attack the dark elves.

"Father. Baldur is right, we need to end this fight now." Thor said at my side.

Before coming to Asgard, I told Thor everything about the attack and why it happened, then we came to Asgard. I suggested to the Allfather that an attack now would be best. To end the enemy before they plot more and gain more strength.

"If it's true that the dark elves have returned, I agree that we should attack as soon as possible."

My father said, sitting on his throne in all his glory.

"So, why deny my request?" I ask him, still calm.

"Because I and Asgard will handle this matter."

"It was the blood of my people that the elves spilled!" I say, raising my voice a little.

"And I am still the protector of the nine realms!" He shouts in response.

The atmosphere between us starts to get tense, I don't back down and keep looking into my father's eye.

"I won't stay out of this fight, the King of the dark elves will be killed by my hands." I say to him.

"Maybe, but not using the Bifrost."

"This is nonsense, we should be working together."

Thor speaks, putting his hand on my shoulder to calm me down.

(You know you're very wrong when Thor is the voice of reason.)

"Very well, if the king of Asgard, and protector of the nine realms doesn't want to help me, I'll do it the hard way."

Without using the Bifrost, I'll have to use my ships to go to Svartalfheim, the problem is that it will take a long time. Besides not knowing the exact location.

"Boom!"

Before I had a chance to return to the conversation and try to convince my father once more, the castle shakes with an explosion that happens far from us, ending the calm of Asgard.

"What happened?" Thor shouted, asking the guards around the throne room.

"Dark elves." Odin says with a confused look, as if he's trying to see something in the distance.

The elves have their own way of traveling between the realms, and since they've already fought several battles against the Asgardians. They know how to stay invisible to the Allfather or Heimdall's gaze.

I didn't believe that this event would happen like in the movies, since the Aether is no longer in Asgard. I left it in a safe place, maybe this attack is just to prevent Asgard from becoming an enemy. Fortunately, I returned, now I can prevent something from happening to my mother.

Thor and I didn't wait to be updated on the situation and went outside the royal palace. A little distance from the city of Asgard on the Bifrost, we see on the crystal path that a ship was destroyed. But at the same moment on the horizon, two other huge spaceships become visible coming in our direction, from the two ships, other small jets came out of them. And counting on their speed, they came flying towards the castle.

The defenses of Asgard were activated and anti-aircraft cannons began to fire at the jets that, counting on their agility, dodged them. The jets, like the elves' ships, have a peculiar shape, they were like black blades flying vertically in the air. When they got close to a target, the pilots put the ships horizontally using them as swords.

"My princes, there is a revolt in the prisons!" A guard reported to us.

"Thor, go take care of those ships." I say to my brother.

"The prisons, Loki?"

"That's not important right now, your friends can take care of that."

Thor understands what I said and spins the hammer and fires towards the two ships. Then I feel a large amount of energy being released around the palace, soon a force field begins to form around it slowly.

Knowing the events of the movie, I shoot as fast as I can into the palace, as I wasn't caring about those in front of me, the soldiers who were in my way were thrown in all directions by the golden energy I was emitting. Seconds later, I find myself in the center of the palace where the power core that energizes the force field is located.

On the outside of it, there are several dry bodies of dead Asgardians who were protecting this place. I enter the room and see a globe of golden light, the energy source. But towards it, there is a being three meters tall wearing black armor. The armored being then extends his hand about to destroy the energy core, but I am faster, a fire whip flies to him and wraps around his hand, and I pull him making him move away from the core.

Then, our positions were reversed, I stand with my back to the energy core protecting it, while the monster stands in front of me looking at me with fury in his eyes. If I remember correctly, this being was once a dark elf who was converted using black magic. The dark elf in front of me has several horns on his head, but still had the beautiful blue eyes of his people.

The monster attacked me like a wild beast trying to punch me, I dodge his slow punches and hit him in the face with a blow making him take several steps back.

He attacks me again as if my blow hadn't made him feel anything, but once I dodge his attempt to grab me and spin Sigel aiming at his neck, He raised his arm to defend himself and the blade of my spear cuts him entirely, but he manages to dodge when he was about to lose his head.

He tries to grab me again, but I jump back creating a little distance between us, if I'm not remembering wrong, this elf gained the ability to suck the life force from others thus healing himself.

(I don't have time for this, I have to end this quickly.)

The transformed dark elf once again goes on the attack running towards me, I throw Sigel aiming at his chest, the elf shows great agility and twists his body avoiding my spear. But it was a distraction, when he turns his body to face me I am already close to him with a golden light sword in my hand.

A quick blow and the elf's head rolls on the floor leaving his body still standing.

So I ended Malekith's plan to invade the castle, and also saved my mother. The problem now is also that I am trapped inside the castle until the attack outside is resolved, I'm also certain that he has a plan B, which I completely ignore.

(T/N: That's very dumb)

POV: Third Person

Asgard

At the moment the Shield is Rising

The small jets of the dark elves crashed against the energy shield as if they were insects on a windshield, after five ships met the same fate, they were smart and gave up attacking the castle, turning their attention to the city.

"BOOOM!"

When one of the ships was about to fire at the city, it was destroyed by Thor who went through it with his body. Then he flies above the clouds and starts spinning Mjolnir above his head, the clouds that were once as white as cotton turn black with lightning and thunder illuminating the skies of Asgard. The attempt to draw the enemy's attention and focus on him worked, all the jets and one of the mother ships began the attack against him.

Thor then dove towards them at high speed aiming at the mother ship, the jets that were faster began to fire at him, but Thor's body was wrapped in energy protecting him and turning him into a living bolt, a few kilometers away from his target, the mother ship fires a powerful blue energy shot.

Thor then spins his body and the shot grazes him, then he spins Mjolnir and throws it, the hammer surrounded by lightning hits right on the cannon that shot at Thor, Mjolnir went through the entire ship creating a reaction and exploding it in the sky.

"Boomm!"

In free fall, he had no way to fly or dodge, so he was hit by a shot from one of the small ships, Mjolnir returns to his hand and he fires a bolt hitting the jet and exploding it. Still in the fight, Thor spins the hammer and goes towards the fleet of enemy jets shooting down one by one.

Even having the power to end this quickly, Thor could not create a powerful enough attack to hit all the ships and end the battle quickly because of the people in the city below. Over time, he finally got reinforcements from the Drakkar of Asgard who joined the battle gaining the advantage.

When Thor was sure of victory, he remembered that there was still another enemy ship, when he looked for it, he saw it in flames in the waters around the crystal path of the Bifrost. But he was not happy with the sight, on the crystal path, he saw several bodies scattered on the ground that were not Asgardians, he also saw Heimdall on his knees leaning on his sword, in front of Heimdall, there is a man with long white hair with his back to Thor.

Thor felt that this man was about to do something dangerous, so he spun Mjolnir and threw it at him hoping to end him.

POV: Third Person

Asgard

At the moment the Shield is Rising

Heimdall failed in his duty, he couldn't see the attack coming, but he managed to warn Asgard the moment the first ship entered this territory. If it weren't for him having taken down the camouflaged ship, the elves would have used the element of surprise to achieve their plans.

With his gifts, he was able to see Baldur going to the center of the castle where a being was killing Asgardian soldiers, he also saw Thor go into battle. Then when Baldur killed the invader in the castle and the energy shield was activated, removing one of the elves' objectives, then one of their ships turned around and came once again towards the Bifrost.

Heimdall drew his long sword from the control console and stood in front of the gigantic mother ship. He pointed the sword at the ship and from it was projected a beautiful rainbow that hit the ship, the beautiful rainbow that seemed harmless went through the ship's armor as if it were paper. But before the ship was completely destroyed, several dark elves jumped from it to the crystal path in front of Heimdall.

"BOOOM!!!"

When the ship fell into the waterfall, it was the signal for the elves' attack, Heimdall remained calm holding his sword in front of his body and when the first enemy appeared, he swung it cutting him in two. The others also didn't stand much chance against him, each one that approached him was cut by a clean and perfect blow, Heimdall didn't even take a single step since the beginning of the fight.

Finally, the last two elves understood that they were not threats to the man in front of them and retreated.

"Really, it was a beautiful spectacle Heimdall guardian of the Bifrost."

Heimdall was startled by his voice, all his senses then focused on that place, it would be almost impossible for him not to detect a person close to him, even a grain of sand would not pass his sight, but behind the two elves, space distorts and reveals another dark elf. He was wearing armor with the emblem of a sun half white, and the other half black, he also had one side of his face all black

"For a moment I thought that the Asgardians would have become a little unworthy after so many years of peace, but it seems that I was mistaken."

"We are a warrior people demon. Allow me to demonstrate."

Heimdall goes on the attack, and the two elves attack him too, with a movement of the long sword he cuts the head of the two elves arriving in front of what he judged to be the leader of that attack, the elf with the black face then conjures a purple energy sword in his hand and defends Heimdall's blow.

The elf smiling points another hand at Heimdall, and from it an energy like a black ray as the night hit him in the chest. He then feels his whole body weak, as if all his energy was being drained, he couldn't stand up, forcing him to lean on his sword while he kneels.

The dark elf then raises the energy sword that he conjured and pierces the crystal path, his black energy begins to envelop his whole body up to his sword, and finally entering the crystal path.

"NO! STOP!"

Even shouting, Heimdall doesn't have the strength to stand up, but in a glimpse of hope, he sees Thor's hammer coming towards his enemy from behind. But the elf also notices this and removes the sword from the crystal path, and when Mjolnir was about to hit the elf enveloped in his black energy, he disappears.

Unfortunately, the damage is already done, Heimdall looks down at the crystal path, an essential part for the functioning of the Bifrost, the crystal path that was once colorless was stained black, the leader of the elves managed to disable the Bifrost, thus isolating the Asgardians in their kingdom.
