Chapter 101 - The Malekith War Part 2

POV: Third Person

Royal Park, Genosha

One Hour After Jane Foster's Arrival.

The Royal Park of Genosha was one of the most beautiful places in the country, with beautiful flowers and buildings that were erected at the very beginning of the kingdom. Queen Amora herself blessed this place, making the flowers always beautiful and the climate always perfect. It's not strange to think that this open or public place would be the most visited by families as a leisure spot.

Many families came just to enjoy the view and have picnics on the grass or around the flowers, others came for the artistic performances that took place on the stage built in the center of the park. This stage looked much more like a coliseum with seats carved out of white stone in the shape of a circle, in the center was a small arena. This old stage was originally used to train Genosha's soldiers, now it serves the purpose of bringing to life the greatest works of literature in the country, many artists consider it a great honor to perform on such a stage.

Today was a beautiful afternoon on a weekend day, at this moment the park's stage was crowded with families who were paying full attention to the performance that was taking place. One of the most well-known and ancient works in the history of this country, how a God descended from the heavens to save his people from the terror that were the ice giants.

The performance was nearing the climax of the story when an explosion occurred right in the center of the stage, the explosion of black light made all the spectators unable to see what was happening on the stage.

"What's happening?"

"Is it some kind of special effect that went wrong?"

"Don't worry, love, this must be part of the show."

The spectators began to talk trying to understand what was happening, but before they could take any action, the black light dimmed revealing the stage once again. The first thing that caught their attention was the huge black door that appeared behind the stage, the center of it was like a hole of pure darkness.

The second thing was the men in black armor with white details, all of them were wearing white masks that had black eyes, they had long white braided hair, some of them carried small staffs or knives.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The scream of one of the women in the audience made everyone look at a larger picture, now they finally saw the bodies of the actors who were just on stage acting now lying on the ground covered in blood.

"Run!"

Another civilian shouted creating a frantic movement of escape, everyone got up as quickly as possible and grabbed their family members and ran to the nearest exit.

"The king of the Dark Elves sends greetings to each and every one of you."

One of the dark elves spoke calmly to the audience who were doing everything to escape.

"Prepare to receive the bloodiest of his blessings!"

This was what gave the start to the attack of the dark elves, those holding the small staffs pointed them at the people in front of them and fired a blue ray hitting squarely some of the people who were fleeing, everyone who was hit had their body pierced killing them instantly. Others chose direct combat, they jumped into the crowd using their knives, each movement of theirs was an innocent life being taken.

"Stop in the name of the King!"

One of the security guards at the location pointed a silver gun at the elf and spoke.

"BAMM!"

The security guard, understanding the life or death situation, shot without waiting any longer, unfortunately his bullet was non-lethal ammunition, which did not cause any damage to the armor of the dark elf, as a counter-attack, the elf threw his knife that pierced the security guard's head, killing him. The elf, seeing that his companions were almost finished killing everyone inside that place and were already heading towards the outside, he followed them. The black portal behind him was standing still, until another group of dark elves crossed and joined the massacre.

Outside the theater, the lucky ones who managed to escape with their lives ran across the grass, trampling the beautiful flowers and destroying them. They were neither happy nor relieved to have escaped from the theater; they knew it wasn't over yet.

The moment the elves came out, they formed a line and pointed their weapons at those who were running, firing and killing a good part of them. The elves didn't fire again and chose to pursue them. Due to the physical attributes of the Elves being much greater than those of humans, they easily managed to catch up and kill them. A few seconds later, all those who were in the theater and managed to escape were killed on the beautiful lawn of the park. But the massacre was not over yet, there were thousands of people still in the park who would be hunted. The nearby civilians who saw what was happening in front of them ran, others called the authorities, a commendable attitude that cost their lives since they stayed behind.

Three minutes after the start of the attack, the elves advanced like a wave, leaving only destruction and death behind, when finally they had something to slow them down. Ten drones used for policing Genosha appeared overhead and immediately fired at the elves. With the agility of the elves, it was easy for most to dodge, but some were hit squarely and exploded. The drones were not like the security guard who used a non-lethal weapon, they were firing energy shots powerful enough to explode a human body.

The drones were using altitude as an advantage, increasing their power. All were being controlled directly by Alice, who made the attack in perfect synchrony. In just a few seconds, more than ten dark elves were blown to pieces by the shots. But it's not as if they were just going to dodge the shots, two drones were hit by shots and destroyed, another two were hit by weapons that were thrown. The ten drones were outnumbered and would be destroyed in a few minutes.

The outcome of the battle was decided by numbers. All the drones were destroyed, but they fulfilled their role perfectly, giving a little time for people to escape and reinforcements to arrive, besides the damage the elves received was not small. Unfortunately, the number of their dead did not demotivate them, the elves were cold warriors who would do anything to fulfill the order of their king, they didn't even waste time looking at their dead and advanced as fast as they could after their prey.

Their advance was quick and precise, and the first ones they spotted were a mother who was running holding her daughter in her arms, a child no more than eight years old. Due to the weight, the mother had a slower speed than those running in front of her, falling behind. One of the elves mercilessly cut the mother's leg with his blade, making her fall to the ground along with the child.

"Mommy!"

The child screamed, frightened by everything that was happening, even though she didn't fully understand.

"It's okay, child, come here, give me a hug."

The mother, knowing what awaited her, hugged her daughter, hoping to prevent her from seeing what was about to happen. The elf in front of her with his sword was about to swing the blade, ending the lives of both in one blow.

When the blade of the sword was about to kill the two of them, another blade appeared and deflected the elf's blow. As a well-trained warrior, the elf was not shocked by the interruption, instead, he struck another blow now aiming at the new target that stood in front of him. This time his sword hit a beautiful golden shield almost transparent as if it were made of glass. When the sword hit the shield, it shone with a strong golden light, aiming right at the elf's eyes. As a creature of darkness, the dark elves have a certain weakness against light, but their masks protect them from it. But even with this protection, the elf could not control his involuntary movements and closed his eyes for a second, time enough to have his head separated from his body.

After killing his target, the newly arrived man now looks at the whole situation around him. He was a man with the appearance of a fifty-year-old man without hair and with a long white beard, he was wearing golden armor and holding a sword and shield.

Nordur looked at the whole place that was once peaceful and beautiful that is now soaked in the blood of innocent men, women, and children, all killed mercilessly.

"May all these damned vermin of Svartalfheim be cursed!"

He exclaimed in his anger.

"Get them out of here."

His order was for one of his men behind him who took the mother and child to a safe place.

"Position!"

The moment his order was heard by his men, all well-trained soldiers took up battle positions. A row of soldiers stood at the front with their spears pointed at the enemies, those who stood behind placed their spears above the shoulders of their comrades, and the others stood behind with their swords. There were two formations, one on the left and one on the right with Nordur alone in the center looking at the elves.

The elves soon realized that their enemy was not common when they appeared. They stopped their attack and all of them gathered, but they still did not form a battle formation. The elves were formidable fighters, but they did not have the combat training of an army.

Then one of the elves came to the front of all and stood in front of Nordur who also did not take any action.

"Greetings Asgardian." The elf greeted.

"Say what you have to say quickly, elf, my sword is impatient for blood."

Nordur replied, containing his desire to kill the elf.

"I bring only a message from my king to you, what happened here today will repeat itself throughout this kingdom until he has what he desires."

The words of the Elf made the nearby soldiers who were listening tighten their weapons in fury. The only thing that prevented them from venting their anger at the sight in front of them of the bodies of their people was their rigid military discipline taught in their training.

Nordur still had a calm face like water, but his eyes were also burning with the fire of Asgardian fury, and the words of the elf were only adding more fuel to the fire.

"Your king is a fool, and because of this massacre, Svartalfheim will burn in flames!"

The elf did not respond, there are no reasons to respond. Instead, he attacked with his knife aiming at Nordur's heart. Unfortunately for the elf, the general was ready. With a movement of his sword, he cut off the elf's hand and then thrust the blade between his eyes.

The elves who were behind attacked the moment the general killed his target. They ran at full speed ahead, more than three hundred dark elves against one hundred and fifty men of the general.

"FIRE!"

When the elves entered the range of the weapons the general gave the order, the spears at the front of the formation of the men of Genosha fired energy blasts creating a curtain of shots that exploded right in the face of the enemy army. The second shot had the same effect, greatly reducing the number of elves.

"SHIELDS!"

When the elves were almost upon them, the general gave the order and the spear men retreated to the rear of the formation giving way to those with swords and shields. They placed the shields in front of them creating a wall of shields. The elves came close to the shields and instead of attacking them head-on, they jumped over the men trying to break through the defense. But the soldiers of Genosha were well trained, and when they jumped, they were hit by spears from the soldiers who had retreated. The spears pierced several elves, killing them instantly.

Other elves then used their small staffs to fire at the shield wall, thus opening a space to continue the attack. Thus the number of dead continued to grow on both sides. The one who was doing the most damage was General Nordur, who had already killed more than ten elves with his sword and shield.

The body count only increased, and the people of Genosha, fueled by their anger and under the leadership of their general, finally began to subdue the enemies.

"Circle!"

Knowing that it was time to end this, Nordur gave the next order. The men using shields spread out and formed a circle with the elves in the center. Their spears fired non-stop at them, and those who approached were attacked by those with swords.

The general stood within the circle of death, swinging his sword and cutting down any enemy in front of him. His entire body was emitting a faint golden light, and his shield was firing rays of light that caused many deaths among the elves. He alone had killed more than thirty percent of the enemy army.

Several minutes after the start of the battle, only one dark elf remained alive, wounded and kneeling on the ground. General Nordur then stood in front of him, his armor was all stained with blood as was his sword.

"Do not worry elf, your King will join you soon."

With these words, Nordur, holding the sword, cut the elf in half, finally ending the first battle of that War.
