Chapter 208: Shut Door

"Go away," Bel said as her sister walked through the door of her bedroom.

"No," Hazel said stubbornly. "You've been stuck in your room for two days now. You can't continuously stay in here. Mother and Father have been here countless times, but you refuse to see them."

"Go away," Bel repeated. "I am fine. I'd really like to be alone."

"No," Hazel said again, walking to the window, throwing the curtains open, and opening the windows. "I know you lived underground for the past few months, but that's no reason to sit in the dark, brooding."

"I am not brooding, Hazel." Bel turned to meet her sister's eyes, and Hazel froze.

Hazel broke eye contact. "Then why won't you leave your room?" She took a step closer.

"I will, just not right now. Please leave." Bel had spent the past few days, dealing with nothing but her thoughts, the only good news was at least her appetite was better.

"No," Hazel insisted.
