Chapter 62: Price to Pay

He didn't respond to her question, rather he gently kissed the side of her neck before gently sucking on it. Bel didn't know why she didn't push him off. She was going to pretend it was because she didn't want to touch him. She felt a sharp pain, but it faded quickly, leaving her with no chance to register it.

He moved from the side of her neck to her shoulder, and Bel did her best not to squirm as she shut her eyes. He was overwhelming in a way she didn't want to think about, and she couldn't wait for him to pull away.

He pulled away from her shoulder and looked down at her, his red eyes gleaming in the low light of the room. "You look more like you've been in bed with me now," he teased.

"You wish," she replied, adjusting her robe, which had fallen off her shoulders a little while he was busy with her neck.
