Chapter 55: Get Married

Bel swore as the servant placed the veil over her head. Even with the barely-there vision the veil provided, she could clearly see how pretty she looked. The candlelight caught the stones, making them glimmer. The dress was beautiful. This would have been the perfect wedding if it weren't for the groom.

"You look so beautiful," Malissa said, her face bright enough to light up the room.

"You can't even see me," Bel replied.

"Yes, I can," she responded.

Malissa was dressed in a pale pink dress. Three white bows lined up in the middle of the bodice. Lace bordered her neckline and the ends of the sleeves, which covered most of her hands, leaving only the tips of her fingers exposed.

"If you say so," Bel shrugged.

"You look so beautiful I could cry. I'm so jealous." Malissa's eyes watered, and Bel could see her battling not to shed tears.
