Chapter 30: On High Alert

Cruden remembered the first time he saw Roselia. She was twirling and spinning in the living room, her pink dress fluttering like a blooming peony. Then, she saw him and froze, suspended in time. He hated her the second he saw her. She feared him the moment Cecil introduced them.

Cruden hated everything that Roselia stood for. With her stupid pigtails and naive eyes, wide open and peering up at him. 

Little Roselia analyzed him from head to toe.

Cruden couldn't wait to leave. 

To him, she was just a child. She was everything good in this world, but their encounter stood for everything wrong with their werewolf society.

Any sane man would've said no.

Cruden objected, but it was no use. In the end, she'd forget him, but he'd always remember her.
