Chapter 5: 5 Fibonacci

A clinic

Where the stench of death and illness permeated around this vicinity in icy fashion especially in a profession such as this

I sat unperturbed a fresh warm cloth draped across my face, warming my face and comforting my skin delectably

It was too cold. Everything was just too cold - too unforgiving

The adrenaline of it all had worn off, I was awake to the murkiness of it all and I despised it

Prior to a few hours ago, I was fighting for my life against a special grade now I sat idly waiting to hear that Haibara was alright and that there would be no lasting injuries thanks to the only 'current' reversed cursed technique user able to output positive energy on other people

It felt like a fever dream like no other. My mind felt like it was on the verge of collapse struggling to keep myself from diassocotiating with everything

The sounds and feelings of the area where the borders of life and death were blurred and danced upon, all merged

The sterile scent signifying its cleanliness and the dull all encompassing white of the clinic, the sounds of the rhythmic beeping of a heart monitor and god awful name constantly ringing in my ears

'…Nanami…Nanami …Nanami …Nanami …Nanami…Nanami.'

Will they be quiet clearly the person they were calling out to was simply not here…!

A sudden jolt upon my shoulder awoke me from my monologue as I removed the towel and looked up to lock eyes with…Shoko Ieri

I had forgotten that was my name from now on…until death

"Don't worry so much, he'll be alright thanks to me," She answered my question that lay lodged just at the very tip of the tongue

I sighed in acknowledgment watching as she then began to retrieve a cigarette and a lighter from her upper breast pocket to then proceed to smoke

'…In a clinic of all places?'

Sensing my questioning gaze she simply laughed before sitting down on the swivelling chair and spinning around a couple of times before facing me, "So? Care to explain or do you want to remain quiet forever."

'Why are all third years so eccentric?' My eye twitched slightly before I began to answer, "…As you already know Haibara and I were assigned a grade 1 extermination mission after all previous grade 2 sorcerers that had taken up the mission had not returned

We went in with that notion, believing it to only be a strong grade 1 curse but a grade 1 nonetheless we were capable of exorcising such a curse as shwon by plenty other times

We were wrong. It was a special grade curse - a finger bearer" I allowed a short get sombre pause to hang in the air before continuing

"Hoh a finger bearer," a wisp of smoke expelling from her lips and diffusing into the air as fast as it came, "You heard? They've been becoming more active and powerful , those fingers. Talk about a hell of a nuisance that Sukuna guy."

'You have no clue to how much of a nuisance he'll become,' my gaze narrowed at the blissful ignorance of what was to come

"We were outmatched in all most every single aspect be it power cursed energy speed durability. And so after a hard fought battle - we lost but on the verge of death I unlocked the reversed cursed technique and the reversal of my technique and exorcised the finger bearer.

That was when Gojo came" I finished finally exhaling a breath of relief

'There is no way I'll tell anyone of my- no the real Nanamis death - this is a weight i and I only can bare.'

My hands gripped one another whilst my foot rhythmically tapped away at the ground below

Without a word she stood up from her chair, reaching for a scalpel to hold within her grasp, "Reversed cursed technique? So you finally made it to the big leagues." A giggle escaped from her followed by a sleezy grin

"Show me," she sliced a precise line through the palm of her hand, drawing blood after showing me the result of such an act

Momentarily shocked at her lack of regard for her own health i arose and reached out to her palm

Sensing the flow of malice, hate, despair, fear I brought two sources of them together and watched in awe as they converged and entwined to become something greater

Something that had shed its sinister roots to ascend into something of pure love

Positive energy

The direct antithesis of its counterpart - cursed energy

My hand graced hers and in real time new skin cells were created and patched the wound she made on her hand almost instantly

"Woahhh," she dully spoke up our faces just a few centimetres away from each other so much so that I could feel her breath caress my features

'Do these third years not know personal space?!'

"Well, my curiosity has been satiated you ahould probably go now those senile higher ups are probably throwing a fit at your lack of appearance," she snickered whilst I frowned at their mention

"Yeah," I responded in kind, distancing myself from her before wearing my jacket to leave, "Tell me when he's awake."

I didn't hear a verbal affirmation but I knew she had noted down my words internally so I waved before i opened up the door to see a less than familiar sight

Satoru Gojo

"~Nanami!~" Gojo burst through the only exit crying out with fake tears

'Guess I'm killing a six eyes user today'

"I need a drink," I mumbled with frustration, no matter how much I enjoyed his character on screen, Satoru Gojos personality especially when you personally take the brunt of it is to say the least… trash

Anymore exposure, and going insane would've been the least of my problems

'Flippant. Egotistical. Arrogant. Self indulgent'

I concurred with all of Nanamis previous observations of the white haired individual whilst also adding a few of my own

Still it would be lie to say that his presence alone wasn't … overwhelming

Like deer facing sheer imminent death at the hands of one of man's greatest achievement - the car

An insurmountable mountain that set the pinnacle of power for all those below him

The Strongest

Though for how long will he keep that title for, the vivid image of Sukuna struck my mind

If I believed Gojo to be a monster that I could never surpass then just how strong is The King of Curses really

'…But if his words are true then there may be a chance to stand at the pinnacle along with those two and maybe even break the ceiling that is the current Jujutsu world…'

"Come onnnn Nanami show meeee~" Gojos nagging rang loud in ears driving madness into my mind

"Come on if he really wants to see it, it'll barely even take a minute," Shoko chimed in to my vexation

"Even you too?" I raised an eyebrow at her words to whcih she just continued to spin in her chair

"…Fine," I sighed before scanning the room to find something that could be used a medium and there I found them

Grasping hold of a bottle of wine that was stashed away behind some books I took a glimpse of Shokos bashful expression before placing them both on the table

"The reversal of my technique, Ratio being Spin a state of rotation defined by its closeness to perfection, that perfection being the Golden Rectangle more specifically the Golden Spiral that is derived from the Rectangle, a mathematically endless spiral that can be seen from a dandelions seed head to a butterfly's wing"

""Woah"" their expression already expressing how bored they were

"…And it's from this Spin that the rotational energy than it takes to create can be transferred to nearby objects in the form of vibrations." From where i finished aureate lines span around my limbs and body, lines that made up the very fabric of reality twisted in ways that shocked the mind

I viewed their expressions now with them both taking a up more serious expressions with Gojos opaque glasses lowering and the sapphire ocean that were his eyes laid bare for the world to witness

Picking up bottle to Shokos curious dismay, the lines wrapped around the cork, gathering their energy before a thunderous boom rocked the room and its shot out intending to hit Gojos head

…only for that to be stopped just a few centimetres away from the summit of his head thanks to limitless

However the battle of rotation and space was not an instant end with the rotation following suit to pierce the infinite distance between the cork and Gojo

The light in Gojos eyes flickered with curiosity- infinite rotation vs infinite space- a paradoxical battle and yet in this world it was a possibility

I dismissed the technique the war of concepts halted and to the now present shock of Gojo it fell flat onto the ground without

The room lay ear piercingly silent for a few seconds before it was broken by the laughter of Gojo

"Well done Nanami you've digievolved~!" He laughed obviously referencing some obscure anime that he liked to watch causing Shoko, "…but still with this playing a factor you may really be able to reach our level"

'While I would like to accept his praise that grin of his… and his tone,' I internally grimaced as well as ok the outside, 'It's just so punchable

'No he's exaggerat-' my eyes lingering over his eyes ahd i coukd tell almost instantaneously that he wasn't lying - he had no reason to, 'Could I actually…?'

As if sensing my contemplation a hard jolt was felt ok my back as Gojo slapped it, "~Don't forget you're still super weak so try not to get any ideas of being stronger than me in a week!"

A vein bulged angrily on my forehead at his mockery as I struggled to control myself

"If that's all I'll be leaving I have to report to the higher ups," my eyes furrowing that anymore interactions with Gojo in this year would kill me

"Oh those senile old coots? Don't worry I just tell them you were hanging out with me I'm sure they'll be fine~" his arm reaching out to wrap around my shoulder, "I saw this nice ice cream restaurant that just opened up wanna co-?"

Reinforcing my body to its fullest extent I launched myself to the open window escaping the white haired individuals grasp

Without giving myself time to readjust my body after landing, I dashed until the Jujustu clinic buildings were barely in focus and just a blot in my vision

'If the outside world was hell then Jujustu tech and its demons (Gojo) served as purgatory'

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The metal coil that barred me and the drink i thirsted for uncoil before my eyes, a sigh erupted from my lips carrying the mental exhaustion of the few hours I had lived on this world

I grabbed the tangerine coloured can of citrus that enticed my desires rather annoyingly so giving into my urges I gulped down the can in satisfying fashion that forced a content exhale from me

'I need to report to them now that I'm up and running dont I? Those geezers… their decisions led to so many deaths not to mention that they were just puppets in the end.

Marionetted by a curious evil that needed to be stopped no matter the cost - Kenjaku'

Throwing the van away, I leered a rather dull look at my reflection that appeared in the subtle sheen of the vending machine

Nanami Kento

With quite an unflattering hairstyle, eyes tgat while contained life was laced with indifference that was easy to catch and a thinner figure than one would expect from a person in a 'occupation' like this

Nanami Kento

I played with my face, twisting and stretching it out as if like plastic man I could morph my body. I ran my finger through my hair to push it back to the 7:3 hairstyle that the original was famous for in Jonathan's memories was not there but replaced with a look that matched Junpeis

I wanted to more if only a little but my embarrassing display was cut short as a voice called out to me which made my eyes widen

"Nanami?"

Soft and gentle and reasoning was the voice which weirdly matched its owner

His hair was akin to that of a wild cats with its maroon like semblance and how while king and tamed, freely frisked the air with each sway

Tall. Very tall.Especially in a country like Japan where it's residents remained on the shorter side. Tall enough that if one paid enough attention they would come to realise that he even outscaled the giant known as Satoru Gojo

It was no doubt that he was handsome not on the level of Gojo but eye catching however his allure was stifled by the eye bags and signs of stress that riddled his face

A man no less a catalyst to he worlds events than Kenjaku and Toji

The man who stood in the shadow of The Strongest…

"Geto?"
