Honestly, I had forgotten just how much it sucks to travel from city to city, place to place. The greenery and relaxing sounds of the forest made even the most mundane moments bearable. Now, as I trudge down the cracked, overgrown road, my surroundings seem desolate, save for the occasional patch of struggling grass and a flipped-over car.
At some point, frustration boils over, and I make the decision to run the whole way. Let's be real, whoever said the journey was more important than the destination was a complete idiot. Though I must admit, I found some enjoyment in pushing my agility to its fullest. I rarely had the chance to run at my full speed, and to say I was quick would be an understatement. I sprinted faster than a car moving at 80 MPH, a speed that swiftly brought me to my first destination outside of the forest.
It was a large town, sadly overrun by oozers, but nothing a quick [Frost Breath: Lv4] couldn't deal with. However, I must say, the ooze was incredibly toxic. Even though I froze most of the oozers with my attack, effectively killing them, the ice melted upon contact with the ooze. Nonetheless, the cold corpses of the oozers collapsed to the ground all the same.
I continued looking around the town for anything interesting, and there was plenty to discover. Among the finds was a paddle ball toy, which I found myself playing with for the entire time I went around looting.
'Huh, snow?' I thought in surprise as I observed the rapidly darkening skies, blocked out by swiftly approaching clouds. The snowfall intensified quickly, escalating into a full-blown blizzard. Soon, snow and lightning became a constant presence, with the snow transforming into hail and lightning striking the area around me.
Concerned for my safety, I hurriedly sought refuge in a nearby house, fearing I might get struck by lightning at any moment. Uncertain whether I could survive such a scenario, I hunkered down, hoping for the storm to pass.
For the next 10 minutes, I took cover in the nearby house, pondering how long this sudden climate change would persist. While I knew winter typically lasted for 7 to 8 months, the abrupt cessation of the loud hail and thunder left me perplexed.
Eventually, curiosity got the better of me, and I ventured outside. To my surprise, the snow, which had been falling in sheets, had stopped, along with the thunder. The sky, previously filled with ominous clouds, was now clear, as if the storm had never occurred. The only remnants of the tempest were the drifts of snow several feet high, serving as the sole reminder of the tumultuous weather that had just passed.
"The hell just happened!" I muttered, utterly bewildered as I surveyed my surroundings. However, realizing there was no use in lingering, I swiftly resumed my activities, thoroughly looting any building or house in the town that caught my interest.
Once finished, I wasted no time in departing from the eerie scene, using the map I had found to navigate towards a city closer to the center of the continent. With a sense of urgency, I pressed forward, eager to put the inexplicable storm behind me and continue my journey.
