Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Back with Brook
I must admit, hunting the Skaven proved to be quite enjoyable. They were abundant and offered a decent amount of experience points, especially when faced in large numbers. This is why I made them my primary targets, not only aiding in my quest to eradicate the Skaven menace but also facilitating my leveling up process. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, I only gained one level, with the next one still halfway out of reach.
However, this was soon to change as the group's size increased from the average of 15 to an average of 25, a development I found quite expected. What I didn't anticipate was their deployment of Skaven Hulks, creatures capable of crushing concrete beneath their hands like Play-Doh. Additionally, they began sending Shamans who wielded a strange green energy that even disgusted me, an undead, to no end.
Unfortunately for them, they became targets due to being tier 1 enemies and providing significantly more experience compared to their lesser kin. However, it wasn't always easy. I recall getting caught by a stray attack from a Skaven Hulk, losing all my defenses. It was embarrassing, considering their lackluster agility. Nonetheless, that one attack managed to wipe out a fifth of my health, leaving fractures all over my body. Fortunately, they all healed after an hour or two of rest.
That brings me to the current moment, standing in the middle of the street before a notably larger Skaven. If I may, he stood only a couple of inches below me, wielding a large club with arms that rivaled the hulks in size. However, I didn't let that intimidate me as I wasted no time in using the Scrutinize skill.

The danger put me slightly on edge, but I refused to back down. Activating [Frost Strike: Lv1] on both my hands, a frosty mist rose from them as I watched the Ratman perform gestures, likely introducing itself or something of the sort. However, I cared little for such formalities as I readied myself to attack, ensuring that the large number of Skavens lurking around the area did not escape my notice. I couldn't afford to be blindsided by a random Skaven.
Nonetheless, it seemed the Berserker had finished its introduction as it moved to attack me, raising the club in its hand to try and smash in my skull.
I refused to allow the Berserker's attack to succeed. Instead of dodging, I raised my fist and struck at the falling club, causing a loud noise as the club immediately shattered due to its being made of normal wood. This unexpected turn worked to my advantage, as the Berserker was thrown off balance by the loss of its weapon.
However, before I could deliver a counterattack, I found myself on the receiving end of one. With surprising agility, the Skaven moved and tackled me before I could react, slamming me into the wreck of a car. Determined not to let this assault continue, I immediately began to activate [Frost Strike: Lv1] while slamming my bony hands into the back of the muscular Ratman. My attack was abruptly halted as a strange protective green screen appeared to cover the Skaven.
"Fuck! Shaman," I cursed under my breath as my vision focused on the figure not too far away. The shaman emerged with his staff raised, channeling sickly green energy to protect the Skaven that now held me against the car. The situation quickly escalated as more Skaven began to appear, converging to attack me while I was held captive by the one before me.
Unfortunately for them, I was done playing games.
