Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Progress
I raise my hand and do a left roundhouse kick, but I can see Reborn using his hand to block my attack before jumping away using the energy from my kick. I dash forward and thrust my fist at him, but he blocks my attack and grabs my right hand, then punches my face.
I ignore his punch and twist my body. I remove the lock and do a side knee strike. However, the smug bastard already sees it coming and raises his hand to block the incoming attack. After blocking my kick, he grabbed my leg once again, and this time, he threw me to the ground.
Reborn gives me his usual smug expression while saying.
"I thought you wanted to beat me, Vale."
"Tch. Your body is too small. I am afraid to kill you in a single hit. OUCH"
I rub my forehead as he shoots me with a rubber bullet.
"Tell me that when you manage to land a clean hit, No Good Vale."
"Really? Are you really giving me that title?"
"When you manage to hit me when we are training, I will call you by name."
"Urgh. Fine."
He got off me and let me sit on the ground.
"Where is Colonnello? It has been a few hours since I saw him around."
"He wants to see the location that is perfect for your training. Don't worry about him. He will make sure to give you the best training you will ever get."
"That is not what I worried about. I am worried about him going too overboard. He brought a heavy machine here, and I don't want him to go overboard and notify the government."
Reborn raises his finger but puts it down a second later.
"Right. That might happen. I will tell him not to get too far."
"Thank you, Reborn."
He nods and says.
"Anyway, I think that should do it for now. I will not force your body for today and tomorrow. However, I must warn you that Colonnello will not hesitate to give his all to train you and the others. His military background will not allow him to hold back."
"Don't worry. I will be ready."
"Good. What do you want to do now?"
I think for a second before saying.
"I think I will go around and do some patrolling around Bucharest. Last night, the others managed to kill two vampires as they tried to add more undead under their control."
"I see. I think I will do some hunting as well. It's been a while since I went hunting."
I bloodlust Reborn release let me know he wants to kill all of them and even do something hurtful to them. He is the Sun Arcobaleno, and he is the main weakness of all vampires.
"Sure. We will depart at seven in the evening."

"How is the situation here?"
I ask the lead engineer and developer of our tech business. His name is Stefan Breban, and he was among the people we rescued when the Millefiore Family was first founded. Stefan is a decent fighter, but his passion is crafting things.
So when I told the others about making a tech business with the help of the Gesso Family, he jumped straight in and became the lead engineer for my company.
"We are already done with the machine that let us mass produce the smartphone. I think we need to outsource some of the production to other countries, boss."
"Is it that much demand?"
"Yes. You might not know this, but our smartphone is a hotcake. If we go international, we need help from other companies to make the major part of the phone."
"That is true. I will ask the others to take care of this. For now, show me what you guys have done on the other side of the project."
"Of course, boss! Please follow me."
Other than being the lead engineer in the mundane project, he is also the lead engineer in tech who uses Dying Will Flame as fuel.
We enter the deepest underground, where I can see many scientists and engineers working together to create a miracle tech. I also see some kind of power armor in the corner of the room with engineers doing some welding.
"Is that power armor?"
"Armor. It did not have any power at the moment. We are experimenting with making something that lets us have an easier time moving that thing and let it throw Dying Will Flame. However, the metal is great at absorbing the Dying Will Flame to harden itself but bad at throwing it out."
"So you want to create a channel that will let it throw flame out and create a machine that makes it easier to move?"
"Something like that. However, it is still at a very early stage. We will notify you when it gets somewhere, boss."
"Good. What about that?"
I point at the pod on the opposite side of the power armor.
"Ah, that is the healing pod 2.0 or at least its prototype. We are in the testing stage, and the testing result is not good. We want to increase the effectiveness of the Sun Flame, but it results in Cellular Death. We are currently missing something, but we will make sure to find what it was and create something that can surpass the tech the Gesso Family brings to us."
I nod and say.
"I will leave it to you guys. However, make sure not to do it too far."
"Of course, boss. We will not cross the line. Don't worry."
"Good. Now, show me the weapon."
"Right."
He takes me to the table, which is not too far away, and says,
"These are the bullets we manage to create from combining two or more flames with the help of your flame, boss."
He pushes a box of bullets with blue and indigo lines around the bullet.
"These are armor-piercing and chameleon bullets for the Rain Sniper Rifle from the Gesso Family. This bullet is coated with a rain and mist flame that reduces the sound when you fire this thing and hides the bullet trajectory to obscure the bullet from someone's vision."
He takes another box and says.
"These are armor-piercing and explosive bullets for the Cloud Machine Gun. This bullet is coated with cloud and storm flame that will multiply the bullet into three and explode into a storm explosion that obliterates the enemy."
I look at these bullets with a smile and say.
"Have they been tested?"
"Yup. We already tested them, and they are ready for action."
I grin at that answer and say.
"Perfect. We will take these bad boys for tonight's hunt."
