Chapter 01 :- Apocalypse Villain System
"Unruly child, what on earth are you up to?"
In the magical capital of the Xia Kingdom, nestled in a secluded villa in the city's northern suburbs, Lu Mingyuan, a man of considerable wealth exceeding 10 billion, lounged on his sofa. Clad in a luxurious nightgown, he held his mobile phone, a look of confusion etched on his face.
From the other end of the phone, a youthful voice echoed.
"Just follow my instructions, it's merely for five days!"
"Five days?"
"Indeed, you should endeavor to gather as many supplies as you can within these five days. This includes food, beverages, clothing, and all your necessities.
On the morning of the 20th, five days from now, remain within the confines of the villa. Uncle Li and his team will ensure your safety.
Remember, the more provisions you have, the better. Ideally, you should have enough to last three to five years…"
"Are you concealing something from me, youngster?"
"Don't probe further. After all, I'm your son, I mean you no harm."
"Is that so…"
Lu Mingyuan, upon hearing his son's grave and earnest words, nodded in contemplation:
"Alright, I'll acquiesce to your request once more."
After uttering these words, Lu Mingyuan ended the call and turned to the middle-aged man beside him,
"Old Li, proceed! Carry out Xiaoyu's instructions."
"Understood, sir!"
The middle-aged man nodded subtly and respectfully retreated.
Meanwhile, in a plush five-star hotel in Yancheng, Lu Yu, a striking young man heaved a sigh of relief upon receiving an affirmative response from his father.
"Well, this should suffice as a repayment for your kindness and care during this time," the young man murmured to himself.
The protagonist of our story is Lu Yu, a wanderer from Earth who has found himself in a new world for the past 25 days.
In his previous life, Lu Yu was an ordinary individual of modest means.
However, upon awakening in this parallel universe, he discovered that he had assumed the identity of another Lu Yu, a resident of this world.
Interestingly, both individuals share not only the same name but also the same physical appearance.
The stark contrast between the two lies in their socio-economic status. While he was a man of humble means in his previous life, in this world, he is the son of Lu Mingyuan, a billionaire residing in the magical capital.
Standing tall at 180 cm, he epitomizes the archetype of the wealthy and attractive man.
Upon his arrival in this world, Lu Yu, armed with the memories of his new body, envisioned a life of luxury and comfort. However, on the 23rd day of his transmigration, a system suddenly awakened.
This system forewarned him of an impending apocalypse set to occur in a week.
It predicted that the Earth's flora and fauna would undergo mutations, and monstrous creatures, unlike anything mankind has ever seen, would emerge.
Humans, once at the apex of the food chain, would now find themselves prey to these beasts.
Initially, Lu Yu was skeptical of the system's prophecy. The world outside was bathed in sunlight, showing no signs of an impending apocalypse.
However, upon reflection, he realized that his own transmigration and the existence of the system were phenomena beyond the realm of normalcy.
If such extraordinary events could occur, why not an apocalypse?
Thus, after a moment of surprise, Lu Yu chose to believe in the system's words.
He began to stockpile supplies and reached out to his parents in this world, urging them to take precautions.
After spending 23 days in this world, he had grown fond of his parents and wished for their safety.
In his previous life, Lu Yu was raised by his grandparents and had never experienced paternal affection. However, in this new world, he felt a hint of warmth in his heart.
Before the impending apocalypse, he saw no harm in giving his parents in this world an additional chance of survival.
He believed that providing them with a warning and resources could potentially increase their chances of surviving the apocalypse.
The reason Lu Yu didn't return to the magical capital to face the end times with his parents was due to his system not being fully activated yet.
Upon realizing his role in this world, Lu Yu couldn't help but exclaim,
"Am I actually the villain?"
Under normal circumstances, whether in movies or novels, villains rarely have a good ending. And now, he found himself in the role of the antagonist.
He wondered why he couldn't just be a wealthy second-generation individual in an urban setting.
Why did he have to be the villain?
He decided to focus on his own spiritual world. Having been bound to the system for two days, he had naturally learned how to use it. By concentrating, he could access the operation panel of his system.
The system, named "Apocalypse Villain System," was currently inactive. The conditions for activation were twofold:
1) Before the end of the world, the existence of the system and the news of the imminent end of the world must not be disclosed.
2) He must not leave the Yancheng area before the end of the world.
The system also provided two notes:
1) If both conditions are met simultaneously, the system will automatically activate at the start of the end of the world. Otherwise, the host's memory about the system and the end of the world will be erased, and the system will automatically uninstall.
2) The protagonist will be reborn on time before the end of the world, and no method can stop it. Any attempts to deal with the protagonist before his rebirth could lead to a series of serious, immeasurable consequences.
The system also displayed the remaining time until the end of the world: 112 hours and 36 minutes. Given these conditions for system activation, Lu Yu found himself unable to inform others about the impending end times.
Lu Yu found himself in a predicament. He was unable to leave the city and return to the magical capital.
If he attempted to disclose the news of the impending apocalypse before it occurred, the system would erase his memory before he could act on his plan.
If he insisted on returning to the magical capital, the system would automatically uninstall itself.
According to the system, he was destined to be the villain.
In the apocalypse, he would have to confront not only bloodthirsty monsters and cannibalistic humans but also a protagonist with an uncanny knack for survival.
Lu Yu, who was well-versed in various scenarios, understood the immense power that the protagonist wielded.
The protagonist was equipped with numerous powerful abilities for self-defense, and his luck was extraordinarily good.
A simple stroll could lead to encounters with exceptional women and valuable treasures. Therefore, if Lu Yu wanted to survive unscathed, he could not afford to lose the potent capabilities of the system.
Knock! Knock!
While Lu Yu was deep in thought, there was a knock on the door of his private hotel room. "Come in!"
He called out, snapping back to reality and casually turning off the system panel.
As Lu Yu gave his consent, the door was opened by a respectful bodyguard dressed in a white short-sleeved shirt.
"Young Master Lu, Miss Qiao has arrived," the bodyguard announced.
"Oh?
She's quite punctual!" Lu Yu responded, a smile playing at the corner of his mouth.
"Please, let her in."
"Understood," the bodyguard replied, and promptly exited the room.
