Chapter 48: No intention to let her go

Early in the morning, Sullivan and Dahlia returned to the palace. After freshening up, taking a bath, and getting ready, they met again. Dahlia sat sipping her morning tea, her gaze settling on Sullivan as she asked, "Why were you acting so strangely last night? Did you drink something you shouldn't have at the brothel?" Her tone carried curiosity with a hint of disapproval.

Sullivan stayed silent, knowing that Dahlia had a tendency to dig deeper into things if he gave her the slightest opening.

"You shouldn't have gone there in the first place," she continued, her voice calm but pointed. "That place isn't right for someone like you."

He raised an eyebrow, meeting her gaze. "And what about you? Why did you follow me there? What if someone had seen you? That place is far less appropriate for you than it is for me."
