Chapter 45: Taxes Paid In Blood Pt. 2

As two of the eleven church guards fell to the ground as corpses, the remaining nine began to be overcome with the adrenaline of battle. Five guards went towards Ruby, and the remaining four went head to head against Amara.

Amara took her giant mace and swung it up into the air. The first man to reach Amara saw this giant mace coming down towards his head. The dumb guard sneered, thinking he could handle this mace, so he lifted his sword to block it. As he did so, the man taunted Amara, saying:

"Ha ha, I can't wait to play with a dark-haired beauty like you when this is over."

Finally, Amara's giant eight-foot-long mace impacted the man's sword.

*Snap*

The sword shattered into pieces smaller than the eyes could see, a testament to the strength of Amara's blow. The mace went past the broken sword, landing on the guard's head.

*Squelch*
