Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The day a legend is Born

1975, February 4th

New York

A random Hospitital

3rd person POV

As Mia Hunter's labor intensified, the hospital room buzzed with activity. The rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor intertwined with her agonized cries, a symphony of anticipation and hope.

In the midst of the chaos, Mia clung to the promise of her impending motherhood, embracing each wave of pain with a fierce determination. Though the agony was unlike anything she had ever experienced, it paled in comparison to the overwhelming love she felt for her unborn child.

"Push, Mia, you're almost there!" encouraged the midwife, her voice a steady anchor amidst the storm. But amidst the flurry of activity, Mia couldn't shake the absence of her husband, Mason, whose comforting presence was sorely missed in this moment of need.

Meanwhile,

Just beyond the threshold of the hospital room, stood Mason Hunter, a figure of undeniable presence and authority. With a commanding stature and a countenance that exuded confidence, he paced with restless energy, his thoughts consumed by the imminent arrival of his child.

Mason Hunter The C.E.O of Hunter enterprises is a billionaire and genius comparable to that of Howard Stark. The people even Gave them the nick name of the two genius of different paths.

The reason they were given this name was because their two respective companies were going on two separate paths. While Stark industries worked on making weapons for war and for harm. while Hunter enterprise was solely for medical purposes and adaptation and evolution of humans. Two different things yet they create a significant balance.

Unbeknownst to Mason, his best friend and rival, Howard Stark, approached with his family in tow. Maria, Howard's wife, cradled their son Tony in her arms, while Howard himself wore a knowing smile, a silent acknowledgment of the bond that transcended their professional rivalry.

"Mason," called out Howard, his voice breaking through Mason's reverie. Startled, Mason turned to face his friend, a mixture of relief and apprehension flickering in his eyes.

"Geesh, Howard, this is a hospital," Mason chided, though a hint of amusement softened his tone. With a gentle gesture, he beckoned for Howard to maintain decorum, even in the midst of their shared anticipation.

Despite the weight of their respective legacies—the towering empires of Stark Industries and Hunter Enterprise—Mason and Howard shared a bond that transcended the boundaries of competition. Forged through years of collaboration and mutual respect, theirs was a friendship built on a foundation of shared ideals and unwavering camaraderie.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. Can someone please point me to the nearest watering hole?" Howard exclaimed, a mischievous glint in his eye as he scanned the room for any signs of amusement.

"Don't pay him any mind, Mason. He's just angling for attention," Marie chimed in, her eyes twinkling with mirth as she exchanged a knowing glance with Mason.

Mason, ever the suave gentleman, flashed a grin in Marie's direction before turning to Howard with a raised eyebrow. "Ah, Howard, always the life of the party. Remind me to thank you for the entertainment later," he quipped, his tone dripping with playful sarcasm.

Tony, ever the aspiring comedian, seized the opportunity to join in on the fun. "Uncle, seriously, if you don't step back, you're going to steal my spotlight," he teased, his youthful exuberance adding a touch of levity to the room.

Mason, never one to back down from a challenge, bowed dramatically in Tony's direction. "My apologies, young Tony Stark, heir to the throne of wit and charm. Please, allow me to step aside and bask in your glory," he proclaimed, his mock formality drawing chuckles from those gathered around.

Tony, unable to resist the chance to play along, offered Mason a theatrical curtsy in return. "Oh, Uncle Mason, you flatter me so. But fear not, for I shall graciously share the limelight with you," he declared, his exaggerated British accent earning him a round of applause from the amused onlookers.

As the laughter subsided, Maria couldn't help but shake her head in amusement at the antics unfolding before her. "Boys, boys, let's not forget why we're here," she interjected, her maternal tone laced with a hint of playful admonishment.

"Now, care to tell me why you're out here instead of by your wife's side?" Howard asked, his concern evident in his furrowed brow as he draped an arm over Mason's shoulder, taking in the scene with a knowing glance.

"Did you sneak off for a drink while Mia's in labor?" Howard's tone was light, but there was a hint of worry as he noticed a faint scent of alcohol lingering around Mason.

Mason's shoulders sagged slightly, his expression a mix of guilt and apprehension. "I... I couldn't face her like this. I'm terrified she'll smell the booze on me and never forgive me," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.

Marie, standing nearby, exchanged a sympathetic look with Howard. She remembered the time when Howard had come home drunk after a late night out, and she'd had to deal with the fallout. She understood Mason's reluctance to face Mia in his current state.

Howard nodded understandingly. "We'll help you clean up, mate. Can't have you missing this moment because of a few drinks," he said, a reassuring smile on his face as he gently guided Mason back towards the hospital room.

As they entered, Mason's heart raced with anticipation and anxiety. The sight of Mia holding their newborn son in her arms brought a flood of emotions rushing over him.

The midwife, her exhaustion evident in the lines on her face, greeted them with a weary yet warm smile. "Congratulations, it's a boy," she said, her voice filled with genuine happiness for the new parents.

Mason approached Mia's bedside, his eyes brimming with tears as he took in the sight of their son. With his tiny fingers curled around Mia's, and his peaceful expression, he looked like a perfect blend of them both.

"Name our child," Mia whispered, her voice barely audible above the soft hum of the hospital room.

"Ray. Ray Hunter," Mason said, his voice choked with emotion. "He's going to be our little ray of sunshine, Mia. Our hope for the future."

As Mia nodded in agreement, a sense of peace washed over Mason. In that moment, surrounded by the love of his wife and the promise of their newborn son, he knew that everything would be okay.

What they don't notice is that in the corner of the room was an old man that no one seems to notice as he's gaze fixed on ray with a hint of anticipation in his eyes "hope you find joy on your journey My friend" the old man says vanishing from the room instantaneously
