Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Counter-Terrorism Food Truck
Wu Chen quickly finished tidying up his food truck. Afterward, he planned to buy some ingredients on the way home to make himself lunch. Cooking was something he was skilled at, but what mattered more than what he would eat for lunch was what he would do once he got home.
Before setting up his food truck today, Wu Chen had intended to open some random treasure chests in the system panel while selling burgers. After all, other people couldn't see the treasure chests on the system panel, and he had plenty of money left over that he wanted to convert into useful items.
However, he hadn't had any time to open the treasure chests during the busy morning. The customers were too numerous and enthusiastic, leaving Wu Chen occupied the entire time. Although he was busy, he felt fulfilled and accomplished.
Now that he had finished selling burgers, he could finally go home and do what he had planned to do earlier—open the treasure chests! It was like spending money on gacha games, opening chests, testing his luck, and then winning big prizes to become invincible in the Marvel world. From then on, he wouldn't need to work hard anymore!
With this thought in mind, Wu Chen felt excited, and his movements became somewhat urgent. However, just as he was about to leave, a pair of hands grabbed onto his food truck.
"Hey, Wu! Packing up already after finishing selling?" Happy asked, his expression neutral as he greeted Wu Chen with everyday pleasantries.
"Oh, Happy, is there something you need?" Wu Chen responded nonchalantly, showing no fear of Happy's somewhat intimidating demeanor.
Wu Chen's confidence didn't just stem from his abilities but also from his knowledge of Happy's true nature. Despite his tough exterior, Happy was actually a bit of a goofball.
These past few days, Happy had been coming to buy burgers every day, so he and Wu Chen had become acquainted. Combined with Wu Chen's memories from his previous life, he knew Happy's true character well.
Seeing Wu Chen's carefree demeanor, Happy felt somewhat dissatisfied. Wasn't he supposed to be intimidating? Well, he'd let it slide this time.
Happy grabbed onto the crucial point, noticing Wu Chen's slight urgency. Wu Chen scratched his head, admitting, "Yeah, I am. I'm hungry, so I was planning to go home, eat lunch, take a nap, have afternoon tea, and then watch TV and sleep at night."
"You...!" Happy gritted his teeth. That was the life he had always dreamed of!
Nevertheless, Wu Chen's explanation was reasonable, so Happy didn't press further. He briefly explained why he had stopped Wu Chen: "My boss has fulfilled his agreement with you, and he's currently driving the food truck over here."
Upon hearing this, Wu Chen's eyes lit up. He no longer felt the need to rush home. "Oh, I see!"
Although running a food truck was just a side job for Wu Chen, he enjoyed it immensely and wanted to do it well.
After waiting for a few minutes with Happy, Wu Chen heard the sound of a car engine approaching. Turning his head, he saw Tony driving a small truck toward them.
The truck was silver-white and looked sleek, with a large model of a delicious crab roe burger on top, indicating its true identity—a burger food truck!
"Cool!" Wu Chen exclaimed as Tony stepped out of the truck, his eyes shining brightly at the sight of the food truck.
Tony immediately smiled. "How's it look? Do you like my design?"
He then proceeded to introduce Wu Chen to the food truck's features, such as automatic driving, one-button transformation (referring to the enclosed rear compartment that could open on both sides to become a mobile food truck), GPS WeChat navigation, and even a counter-terrorism device.
Wait, a counter-terrorism device?
Wu Chen looked at Tony with a puzzled expression, while Tony explained solemnly, "Since firearms are prohibited in this country, you need to have the power to protect yourself."
"In case of danger, you can hide in the truck, press this button, and the burgers on the roof will turn into automatic machine guns. The system inside the truck will identify and neutralize any threats to you or the truck."
Wu Chen listened with a bewildered expression, but he couldn't deny the necessity of such a device. After all, in a country where firearms were banned and racial discrimination was rampant, people of color indeed needed to protect themselves.
Expressing his gratitude to Tony, Wu Chen also mentioned that he had his own means of self-protection.
Seeing Wu Chen's excitement, Tony glanced at Happy, who nodded and picked up a red and gold briefcase he had brought with him.
"Wu, I have a question for you," Tony said, his expression serious.
Wu Chen, who had been feeling elated, suddenly froze and looked at Tony with equal seriousness.
