Eye of Medusa
Just like before, Johnny paid no attention to the excited crowd, maintaining his calm demeanor as he left the arena.
However, it was precisely this calm attitude that drove the audience wild. Many had witnessed Johnny's rise and fervently hoped that a strong contender like him would emerge victorious in the championship battle.
Johnny didn't dwell on the second game of the second round. Instead, it was Rat who eagerly informed him about Medusa's victory. She had used her strange ability to control the Zerg Mother, ending the battle before the Zerg Mother could summon a swarm to assist her.
This made Johnny more wary of Medusa.
Now, only one match remained before the final championship battle: his confrontation with Medusa. The outcome would determine the champion of this session.
Though Medusa's abilities were peculiar and confounding, Johnny had a reason he couldn't afford to lose.
Johnny prepared himself thoroughly. He revealed all his trump cards, holding nothing back. His strategy was clear: defeat Medusa swiftly at the start of the battle.
As Johnny mastered his poisonous abilities, the final battle of the championship arrived.
"Everyone, the moment you've been waiting for has come! Let's welcome the two fighters who have ignited our passion: the Devourer and... Medusa!"
Even the usually composed Grandmaster was excited, his words sending waves of anticipation through the crowd.
Countless searchlights turned the arena into a dazzling spectacle. Fireworks and salutes erupted from every corner, heightening the atmosphere and sending the audience's adrenaline through the roof.
"Boom…"
The heavy metal door of the arena rose slowly. Under the intense gazes of countless spectators, Johnny and Medusa emerged from opposite ends of the arena.
"Devourer! Devourer! Champion!"
Amid the fanatical cheers, Johnny finally saw his opponent clearly. Medusa was a woman, and a stunning one at that.
By Johnny's standards, Medusa was undeniably beautiful. Her appearance and figure were impeccable, with an alluring shape and striking presence. Her fiery red hair added to her aura, exuding a powerful and seductive charm. Any man would likely be drawn to her and find it hard to look away.
What impressed Johnny the most were Medusa's eyes. They held a mysterious and captivating intensity that hinted at her formidable power.
Medusa's eyes were deep, and when you looked into them, you felt an involuntary sense of sinking.
Facing Johnny, the woman called Medusa smiled slightly, exuding an amazing charm.
"Devourer, I promised the Grandmaster that even if I defeat you, I will not kill you," she said with a strange magnetism in her voice that made people feel hot.
Distracted for a moment by Medusa's beauty, Johnny quickly regained his senses and avoided her gaze. Even then, he felt dizzy, his mind filled with thoughts of Medusa's delicate body that he couldn't shake off.
"What a strange ability. No wonder she's called Medusa," he muttered, trying to control his thoughts. After a brief confusion, he recovered.
"Boom!"
Flames erupted from Johnny's body, wrapping around him. Through the blazing flames, when he looked at Medusa again, her influence on him was much weaker.
"Medusa, you said you won't kill me? If I'm not mistaken, only one person can survive the championship battle," Johnny said, puzzled by her words.
Medusa let out a heart-stirring chuckle and slowly walked towards Johnny, her movements reminiscent of the legendary snake woman.
"Hehe, don't worry. As long as you choose to be my servant and be loyal to me, you can survive," she said with confidence.
Johnny could see the triumph in Medusa's eyes and realized she believed she had already won.
"Servant? Loyal to you?" Johnny repeated, hearing such a proposal for the first time. Even Rat had never mentioned it.
Feeling Medusa's contempt, Johnny felt a surge of anger. He thought to himself that if he won the championship battle, he might offer Medusa the same "chance" she was offering him now.
After all, it would be a pity to kill such a beautiful woman directly.
"Medusa, I will also give you a chance. After I defeat you, if you are willing to surrender, I can consider sparing your life," Johnny said, his voice calm as it reached Medusa's ears.
Johnny's words left Medusa momentarily stunned, and a complex look flashed across her eyes. Medusa was not a typical fighter but a powerful warrior secretly cultivated by Grandmaster, much like the Flash Wolf whom Johnny had defeated earlier. However, Medusa was far stronger than Flash Wolf.
In addition to her extraordinary combat abilities, Medusa possessed a formidable psychic talent, enabling her to execute devastating psychic attacks. She often defeated or even killed her opponents without them ever seeing her coming.
"Hehe, alright. If you can truly defeat me, I will follow you. But first, you have to be able to beat me..." Medusa smiled as she approached Johnny. A strange aura emanated from her, and her eyes became like deep pools, trying to pull Johnny's thoughts into them.
Johnny, wrapped in flames, felt his body gradually stiffening as Medusa drew closer. He found it difficult to look away from her eyes.
"No... This is a battle!" he reminded himself, fighting to stay conscious.
With great effort, Johnny's momentum soared. His divine power surged, providing some resistance to Medusa's gaze. In that moment of defiance, he felt his mobility return.
Swish!
In the blink of an eye, Johnny vanished from Medusa's sight.
Activating his highest level of ability, Johnny moved with incredible speed, disappearing almost instantaneously. Even Medusa could not immediately pinpoint his location.
Johnny continued to move at high speed, his chest heaving, eyes filled with a hint of fear. He didn't dare stop for even a moment.
