Chapter 39: Dorion's childhood

Dorion walked inside the academy with his face hidden under a hoodie. As he made his way toward his classroom, the lively chatter of students filled the air around him.

"You come to my house, and we will play that new game you wanted to."

"Hey, have you guys seen Deboni? She told me to wait here."

"Have you heard? Lyfra got a new building in the central plaza as her birthday gift."

"What are you guys doing after school? How about we go to the club later?"

"Who has done the homework? Help me!"

This was the usual chatter Dorion heard every day. From school homework to lovers to strict parents, all the words were very familiar to him, yet he seemed not to understand any of them.

What should he think of when he hears 'parents'? Should he imagine a loving couple who scolds their kids for being mischievous, or should he think of a strict father who secretly puts a blanket on his sleeping child?
