The police officers didn't think much of her reaction, assuming she was worried about potential retaliation from criminals in the future.

“Miss. Sweeney, rest assured, they can't see you,” the officer patiently explained.

Naomi's tense heart gradually eased, and she took a deep breath, then turned and followed the officer.

As they left, the interrogation team entered the room once again.

They slammed a folder onto the table and looked impatiently at Cynthia, “Have you thought it over?”

“I've told you before, but you refused to listen; and when you did listen, you refused to believe it. What more do you expect me to say?”
