Chapter 63: Not So Scary Anomaly

Ayssa kept on examining the visitor, even though this person was none other than Azel.

It was just that, there was something that screamed directly to her instinct to not open the door for this person.

'Something is wrong…'

The first sign was subtle, almost imperceptible—a flicker in the periphery, a shadow lingering just a fraction too long. One might have dismissed it as a trick of the light or an overactive imagination, but then there was the smile. 

Ayssa had only seen the entirety of Azel's face when she took out her mask to take a bite of the leftover meal, but she couldn't help to notice it.

It was her smile, itt stretched a touch too wide, teeth glinting under the fluorescent hallway's light, while she donned a pair of eyes that weren't crinkling in that familiar way.
