Chapter 122: Harry is the Heir of Slytherin

The battle seemed so well-spoken before, but when fighting her, it was so fierce and powerful, even utilizing almost all of his abilities.

Irina's little face swelled up, looking a bit unhappy.

Across from her, Lynn shrugged innocently and said, "I really didn't use my full strength. Look, I only made two alchemical formations, but usually I start with three!"

Hearing this, Irina became even more displeased. You say you didn't use full strength, but you still used alchemical formations!

It's worth noting that with Lynn's current alchemical formation prowess, a simultaneous attack from two formations would be enough to kill five or six Aurors from the Ministry of Magic!

If Irina wasn't his classmate and good friend, but rather a true enemy, then after that alchemical formation attack, her body would likely have been riddled with holes!

At this moment, the audience below the dueling platform fell into a stunned silence, including the professors.

After all, even among the elite Aurors of the Auror Office at the Ministry of Magic, there were probably very few who could perform as outstandingly in battle as Lynn and Irina did. Yet these two second or third-year young wizards had achieved it.

How could one not find it unbelievable?!

No one knew how long it took, but accompanying a Hufflepuff student's exclamation, the entire hall erupted.

"It's unbelievable! I never thought spells could be cast like that!"

"Were they using non-verbal spells? I've never heard of such a thing!"

"No, that was wandless magic! Even Aurors probably can't reach their level!"

"..."

Exclamations of amazement arose from every corner of the hall, with almost all the young wizards praising Lynn and Irina's strength. In contrast, Lockhart, the original host of the Dueling Club, had completely lost his presence in the eyes of the young wizards.

"Rowle! Rowle! Rowle! ..."

Suddenly, the Slytherin snakes chanted Lynn's name in unison, showing their support for him.

"Lowell! Lowell! Lowell! ..."

On the other side, the Gryffindor lions refused to be outdone and shouted Irina's name.

These young wizards were as if injected with adrenaline, their faces flushed red as they continued to cheer.

It wasn't until Professor Snape stepped onto the dueling platform and fired a spell into the air, bursting into a shower of flames, that the excited young wizards finally calmed down.

"I think you should reflect on why you cannot even cast a simple spell, instead of shouting like baboons!" Professor Snape said pointedly, looking at the quieted young wizards below.

After settling the crowd, Professor Snape had Lynn and Irina step down and continued to divide the young wizards participating in the Dueling Club into pairs.

Facing Professor Snape's taunts, the young wizards dared not retort and could only vent their frustrations on their opponents.

Soon, it was Harry and Malfoy's turn to duel.

As recorded in the original book, Malfoy cast the dark spell Serpensortia at Harry, summoning a long black snake.

The black snake landed heavily on the floor between them, then raised its head, prepared to attack.

The young wizards below the dueling platform screamed and quickly retreated, clearing the area.

"Don't move, Potter," Professor Snape said lazily. "I'll get rid of it."

Professor Snape drew his wand, intending to make the unwanted black snake disappear.

However, Lockhart stepped forward again, seemingly wanting to regain some presence. "Allow me!"

Lockhart threatened the black snake with his wand, but with a loud "bang," the snake not only did not disappear but instead reared up over a meter high before crashing back onto the dueling platform.

The black snake now looked slightly larger and, enraged, hissed menacingly as it slithered towards Justin Finch-Fletchley in the audience below, raising its head and baring its venomous fangs in an attack stance.

Seeing this, Harry instinctively shouted, "Leave him alone!"

However, what Harry thought was a deterrent to the black snake sounded like an eerie "hissing" noise, akin to a snake's hissing, in the ears of all the young wizards in the hall.

After hearing Harry's voice, the black snake collapsed onto the dueling platform floor, docilely fixing its gaze on Harry.

Harry had expected gratitude from Justin Finch-Fletchley and admiration from the young wizards below.

Instead, Justin angrily shouted at Harry, "What do you think you're playing at?!"

With that, Justin rushed out of the hall without looking back.

Seeing Justin leave, Professor Snape stepped forward, waving his wand to dissipate the black snake into a wisp of black smoke. He looked deeply at Harry.

The surrounding young wizards began whispering to each other, seeming somewhat fearful of Harry and keeping their distance from him.

Feeling the eerie atmosphere around him, the clueless Harry still didn't know what had happened.

"Come on," Ron whispered in Harry's ear as he and Hermione pulled Harry off the dueling platform. "Let's go..."

Ron led Harry out of the hall, with Hermione hurrying alongside them. Not long after, Irina rushed out from the hall as well.

Back in the Gryffindor common room, Ron pushed Harry into an armchair and questioned him, "You're a Parselmouth, why didn't you tell us?"

Harry was perplexed. "I'm a what?"

Irina spoke bluntly, "A Parselmouth, Harry. You may not know, but when you were talking to the snake earlier, you weren't speaking human language but 'hissing' like a snake. This isn't an ability ordinary people should have. You should know that the only known Parselmouths in the British wizarding world are Slytherin and Voldemort!"

Upon hearing this and seeing the three of them nod in affirmation, Harry realized Irina was not deceiving him.

"I'm the Heir of Slytherin?!" Harry was starting to doubt his life.

Irina said, "You only possess the ability of a Parselmouth. There's no further evidence that you're the heir Slytherin spoke of, especially since you know whether or not you controlled the monster in the Chamber of Secrets that petrified Filch's cat."

Hermione continued from Irina, "But after today's events, I'm afraid everyone at Hogwarts will think you are the Heir of Slytherin!"

Harry felt devastated. He never imagined that what he thought was a perfectly normal ability would essentially confirm his identity as the Heir of Slytherin.

Harry felt like even jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge wouldn't be enough to cleanse himself!
