Chapter 54: Every Last Trick In The Book

Zero felt his back bump against the wall of the forge as he gave himself as much distance from Silas's attack as possible. He could feel the static causing his hair to stand up slightly but thankfully it cut just short of reaching the area he stood in. 

"Kai was right at the center of that attack," Zero said with worry laced in his tone. He narrowed his vision on Silas - he had to prepare to jump in any second if the worst outcome happened. Even if it didn't, Kai might not be in any condition to continue this fight alone.

As the attack subsided, a bone crushing blow could be heard and the sound of someone bellowing out in pain.

"What was that?!" Zero took several steps forward and saw something he didn't expect at all. 

Kai had delivered a devastating blow to Silas's face that sent him off his feet and tumbling to the ground. Not only had he survived it, he was back on the attack.

"B-but...how?" Zero muttered to himself.
