Zaren smiled shrewdly, leaning closer to Xander from over the table. "Tell me friend, you've been learning from Zephyr Thorne for years. So why are you still stalling on taking the way of the Huntersik?"

Xander merely took a huge gulp of his drink, emptying the glass. "What makes you think I am stalling? Everyone seems to think that I am emotionally inept and incapable of moving on from Astrid, I am hurt by such assertions."

Zaren observed him coolly, "It's not that I think you're incapable of moving on from Astrid, it is the trifecta bond I doubt you're able to move from."

"The trifecta bond has been long dead." Xander muttered more to himself than to Zaren. Yet again almost offended that Zaren seemed to enjoy talking about poking about Vinnandra.

The other man shook his head, not agreeing with his assertion. "You and I know that something that powerful can't just die."
