Bren had only two weeks before she would be married off to Lord Stormward.

Zephyr was in the far borders of the Far East, so she wrote to him urgently, informing him that she had to see him as it was urgent.

Bren knew that ordinarily it would be hard for Zephyr to leave his post, but then Zephyr was no ordinary person to begin with.

Borrowing a transport dragon, Bren journeyed to Brienda castle to visit her friend, Aria. And yet again, she was found head to head with a defector witch.

Of all defector witches Bren had seen her friend with, the boy with locs looked the most terrifying. But Aria was busy caressing the boy's locs like it was the most normal thing to do.

"Alakan, meet my friend Bren." Aria introduced them. But when the boy, Alakan, rested his eyes on Bren, she felt like he could see through her soul with eyes that resembled the clouds… for his iris was white and without any other color.
