Jason remained silent, taken aback by Hal's immediate compliance. The boy's actions were always a puzzle, his thoughts a maze without a map.

Gently, Jason motioned with his hand, and the droplets of blood levitated from Hal's wrist, coalescing into a frost-like vial in Jason's palm.
