Chapter 109: Building Hype By Sitting Still

The Administration Hall was the grandest building in the sect, at least if size wasn't a requirement. Both the Codex Pagoda and the Tower of Enlightenment were larger, but to me this central building conveyed the majesty of the 10,000 Scrolls Library sect even better than those two. It helped that it was surrounded by the auspicious buildings, in some cases I'd even call them estates, where the sect elders and Grand Elders had quarters. It was the kind of place where even an Inner Disciple was greeted with a "Halt!" by the elder on doorman duty. "State your reason for visiting the Administration Hall."

"I am here to present proof of mastery of the Astral Absorbing Aura technique, as required to apply for permission to enter the Library."

"Very well. I will need your name, then you may demonstrate your use of the technique directly to me."
