Chapter 40: The Lady In Black, Part Twenty-Five

Normally, Emi wouldn't have gone out of her way to bother someone so much. 

She understood that in a world where people were already likely to betray you at the first sign of trouble, encouraging them to actively hate you wasn't a good idea. 

But, teasing Max was just a little too fun. 

"Nice shot!" Emi clapped as Max helped take down a skeleton, her arrow piercing its skull. "Only took, what, 15 shots this time? Good job!" 

There was just something oddly enjoyable about seeing Max having to take deep breaths to stay focused and not curse Emi out. 

[Wonder how many more jabs it'll take before she does...] 

Emi hadn't just stood back and done nothing, though. She'd taken down a few skeletons herself, bringing her to this EXP:
