Chapter 258: • Two Dead Bodies

Footsteps were echoing, one after the other. The passage was narrow and dim, the torches flicked on the stone walls, feeble against the mild darkness.

The footsteps continued to echo, even though their sound was swallowed by the dark corridor.

With a stride of determination and a stern expression in his eyes, Duke Bellunder marched on in the darkness. Beside him, Head Marshal Gareth kept pace, his armored boots made the most noise as they clanged against the ancient stones.

"This better be worth my time, Gareth. My son still hasn't been found and this impromptu information doesn't seem to have anything to do with finding him."

"The mortician described it as a Continental issue, my Lord. One that needed your immediate attention," Gareth replied. "Mage Anduris is with him as well."
