Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Is My Predecessor Mentally Retarded?

In every society, there exist hierarchies and conflicts, and the Celestial Dragons residing in the Holy Land of Mariejois are no exception.

Celestial Dragons rarely bother to engage with ordinary "untouchables" in competition. They perceive themselves as inherently superior and simply take what they desire without confrontation. Hence, battles among Celestial Dragons are typically confined to their own class. Only those of equal nobility are considered true rivals.

In the case of Donquixote Claudius, his background is somewhat unfortunate, to say the least. Despite being born into a lower-tier Celestial Dragons family, his parents held considerable power as the original heads of the Donquixote family. Therefore, Claudius could be considered the "Second Generation" of Celestial Dragons.

However, fate can be unpredictable, even for those who perceive themselves as godlike. Human beings, including Celestial Dragons, are subject to the cycles of life and death. Claudius' parents succumbed to an incurable disease three years prior, leaving him orphaned at the tender age of seven. At ten years old now, he was far too young to assume leadership of the Donquixote family.

Consequently, the reins of the Donquixote family were passed to Doflamingo's father, Donquixote Huo Minggu. Huo Minggu, unlike many of his peers, possessed a kind heart and treated Claudius as his own son. Under his guardianship for the past three years, Claudius had been nurtured and cared for.

Under normal circumstances, Claudius would have lived a life of leisure until adulthood, inheriting the privileges befitting a Celestial Dragon. However, it seemed that Huo Minggu harbored intentions of reinstating Claudius as the patriarch upon his coming of age.

Reflecting on his situation, Claudius couldn't help but ponder the appeal of such a life. The prospect of effortlessly enjoying all the privileges of his station without the need for strife or hardship seemed enticing. Yet, a nagging sense of idealism stirred within him, a residue of the Donquixote bloodline.

Over the past year, Huo Minggu's travels to the North Blue had awakened dormant desires within him. He began to entertain thoughts of renouncing his celestial status and living amongst ordinary folk.

Such notions were deemed madness among the Celestial Dragons, indicative of a mind plagued by delusions. However, Huo Minggu remained steadfast in his beliefs, convinced of the feasibility of his aspirations.

As the transition of power loomed, Huo Minggu made preparations to pass the mantle of leadership to Claudius. Despite Claudius' lack of experience and youth, Huo Minggu remained resolute in his decision.

Unbeknownst to Claudius, his ascent to power was met with resistance from within the Donquixote family. His perceived incompetence and the precedent set by his predecessor cast doubt on his suitability as patriarch.

Aware of the opposition he faced, Claudius grappled with the weight of expectations thrust upon him. He couldn't help but question his own capabilities and the legitimacy of his claim to leadership.

In the midst of his turmoil, Claudius found himself thrust into an unexpected predicament. A prank involving a Devil Fruit left him humiliated and ostracized amongst his peers. Yet, Huo Minggu remained steadfast in his support, further complicating Claudius' already tenuous position.

As Claudius languished on the shores of a deserted island, he contemplated his next move. With limited options available to him, he resigned himself to await rescue or succumb to the harsh realities of his predicament.

Though his circumstances appeared bleak, Claudius remained determined to survive against the odds. As he grappled with the uncertainties of his future, he couldn't help but rue the absurdity of his situation.

With resolve steeled, Claudius braced himself for the challenges that lay ahead. In the unforgiving wilderness, survival was his only imperative, regardless of the cost.

As the Celestial Dragon contemplated his uncertain fate, a sense of irony washed over him. In a world governed by privilege and entitlement, he found himself stripped of his status and forced to confront the harsh realities of existence.

Yet, amidst the chaos and despair, Claudius harbored a flicker of hope. For as long as he drew breath, the flame of resilience burned within him, a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Celestial Dragons.

With a wry smile, Claudius embraced the challenges that lay ahead, determined to defy fate and carve his own path in a world that sought to crush his spirit.

Thus began Claudius' journey of survival, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of insurmountable odds.

As he gazed out into the vast expanse of the unknown, Claudius vowed to overcome whatever obstacles lay in his path, for he was a Celestial Dragon, and nothing could break his will.

With newfound resolve, Claudius set forth into the wilderness, his fate uncertain yet his spirit unyielding.
