Chapter 158: Chapter 158: Entering the Factory

"Let's go in and take a look. We'll leave the truck here," Renault suggested confidently. He wasn't worried about leaving the truck unattended, knowing it was securely locked up. After all, anyone who could bypass the security measures he setup deserved some credit. With the keys removed and the steering wheel dismantled, no one else could drive it away.

Where would one find so many versatile agents anyway?

The SF automaton units wouldn't give the truck a second glance. They were programmed to ignore inanimate objects like trucks, and they lacked the sophistication to target human or civilian supplies unless their programming underwent a significant mutation.

As for the few elite-level Sangvis Ferri T-dolls, they might have motives, but there were only a handful of them. Renault was confident they could check the whole area in ten minutes before those guys ask inquiries.

Renault effortlessly pushed aside the SF Dolls blocking the entrance and strode confidently inside the Sangvis Ferri factory.

However, M1911 and Vector were not as bold as Renault. They kept a wary eye on the Sangvis Ferri dolls surrounding them, fearing a sudden attack.

As they passed through the SF Dolls and entered the factory gate, Renault discovered another layer of doors inside, tightly sealed, with the SF dolls making a tight guard in front of it.

Raising his hand, Renault knocked on the thick door, producing a dull thud.

"Vector, do you have any thermite charges? Give me a few," Renault requested, turning back to Vector.

During metal smelting, they occasionally used thermite charges. When leaving, Vector had collected all these thermite charges as if they were her treasures, specifically asking Renault to help her turn them into thermite grenades.

Renault didn't believe Vector didn't have them.

After all, she loved playing with fire.

Seeing Renault's outstretched hand, Vector blushed and pulled out three thermite charges from under her skirt, much to M1911's surprise.

M1911 was taken aback with shock. She had thought Vector carrying ten incendiary grenades was already impressive, but who would have guessed she had hidden so many powerful weapons under her skirt?!

She thought carrying 420 backup rounds was already quite extravagant, but compared to Vector... did only those with obsessions will become powerful?

While pushing aside the SF dolls near the door, M1911 looked at her M1911 pistols in her hands. Her two imprinted weapons seemed to be a bit inadequate now...

Just as she was thinking, Renault had already affixed several thermite charges to the door's seam and pulled the pins.

Crackle!

As the thermite in the charges ignited, a deafening explosion occurred, and molten metal sprayed out like sparks!

Unfortunately...

"Hmm, this SF factory door seems quite sturdy..." After a moment, M1911 scratched her head awkwardly when she saw the gap in the door was only as wide as a fist. She had thought they could burn a path through the door large enough for them to pass through.

But was this it?

"Well, it's expected. Just the material used for this door is enough to cover the cost of replacing all your bodies back in the house. After all, it's their headquarters, so it's normal for security to be tight."

But even this small gap was enough.

Renault grabbed one side of the door and pushed hard!

Creak!

The locking mechanism hidden on both sides of the door made a piercing sound, and the gap, originally less than the width of a fist, was widened by Renault to a width that could accommodate him walking through.

"Let's go."

Vector immediately followed, while M1911 turned back to look at the SF dolls still standing motionless outside. The dull gazes behind their goggles made her feel uneasy.

After crossing the threshold, the three of them saw the situation inside the factory. Similar to outside, there were numerous SF dolls, but these ones inside had already been destroyed, leaving behind limbs and body parts scattered on the ground.

Of course, they were all SF dolls, and there were no bodies of human combat personnel or even IOP tactical androids.

"They were all killed after they stopped moving." Vector calmly remarked, looking at the bullet holes on the walls. There were no signs of particle weapon attacks in the direction these SF Dolls were facing.

Obviously, these SF Dolls hadn't had the chance to react, or they were killed unilaterally after they stopped moving.

Renault nodded in agreement, but then he saw the chaotic network of roads inside the Sangvis factory.

"Tsk! This place! Are they trying to drive OCD people insane!? Couldn't they design a more basic road layout?"

From their position at the entrance, they could see several production lines inside the factory, and while there were personnel corridors, the roads were too complex, with only simple numerical markings at the corners.

For newcomers unfamiliar with the area, entering here for the first time would surely make them as dizzy as Renault.

At a glance, there were over a dozen roads leading to different areas. If one didn't know the place, finding the factory's control room alone would take hours.

Fortunately, the intruders who had entered here before had left traces. The scattered shell casings and discarded magazines pointed Renault in the direction they needed to go.

No matter what, just follow these shell casings. Inside the Sangvis Ferri Factory, apart from the intruders, there wouldn't be any shell casings left behind, as all Sangvis Ferri Dolls used particle weapons.

Following the wreckage of the SF Dolls and the shell casings scattered on the ground, Renault and his dolls jogged along and soon arrived at what looked like a lobby, where they encountered the first human casualty.

It was a soldier wearing protective gear, but he had taken off his fully enclosed helmet.

Seeing the body of this soldier, both M1911 and Vector frowned simultaneously.

This guy, with half of his head missing, looked terrible. Not to mention, the blood under him had already spread out, so they had to step on it if they wanted to pass...

Renault just glanced at him and stepped over the blood on the ground, leaving bloody footprints behind.

Clatter! Clatter! Clatter!

Just as Renault was about to continue deeper into the factory to see what had happened, a hurried running sound suddenly came from behind the three of them. The crisp sound of metal boots hitting the metal floor was rapidly approaching!

Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Fratricide

The footsteps rapidly closing in covered the ground Renault and his companions had traversed in mere minutes, matching their sprint speed almost perfectly. Indeed, the newcomer sprinted full tilt, with a form so flawless it could have been in a race.

Seeing the person charging towards them, Renault instinctively waved his hand, and along with M1911, stepped aside against the wall. Although they didn't know why this person was in such a hurry, they figured it wouldn't hurt to make way. After all, they weren't losing anything.

As the newcomer rushed past Renault and the others, their black skirt, riddled with bullet holes and scorch marks, fluttered past them.

But just as the person passed Renault and his companions, they didn't continue running. Instead, they abruptly halted and, with an alert expression, stared at Renault and his group.

"Commander of Griffin, what are you planning!?"

The Sangvis Ferri elite-level Doll Agent, with disheveled hair and a body covered in the smell of gunpowder, pointed both of her remaining machine guns at Renault.

"Griffin? Me?" Hearing Agent's words, Renault looked around and then raised his hand to point at himself.

He hadn't expected Agent to stop because of them, let alone not recognize him!

What was going on? It had been about a year since he started interacting with Scarecrow, and from then till now, hadn't almost every Sangvis Ferri elite-level Dolls seen him?

Executioner, Hunter, Destroyer, Intruder, not to mention Scarecrow, that made five Sangvis Ferri elite dolls. Even if the others hadn't seen him in person, how could they not even recognize what he looked like?

With data transfer between dolls being so convenient, just a short video clip would have been enough for other Sangvis Ferri elite dolls to recognize him. Moreover, Scarecrow had even obtained an official SF field Agent identity for him.

And yet, Agent here didn't seem to know who he was and bluntly called him the commander of Griffin?

Did he really look like the commander of Griffin?

"Are there others here? You just intercepted me outside the factory, and now you've broken into this factory, cutting off Sangvis Ferri's communication transmission. What are your intentions?" Watching Renault, who looked dumbfounded, Agent remained wary of the three in front of her.

She had just single-handedly defeated a Griffin squad that had intercepted her outside, killed a Griffin commander, and now another one showed up. And this human... he didn't look quite right.

The life detector readings were abnormal, but Agent was certain that there had been no issues with her life detection module during the battle just now.

Moreover, she couldn't identify the approximate model of the two T-dolls beside him. Apart from confirming that they were indeed using ordinary public communication frequencies, she couldn't detect any other information about these two dolls.

"How should I know Griffin's intentions? I'm Renault, here to find Scarecrow. Haven't you SF folks heard of me? Not long ago, you took over a new goods transportation route from me." Renault said uncertainly, wondering if Agent could really recognize who he was. But since they were still standing here talking, it seemed unlikely they would start fighting. Besides, Renault was not one to resort to violence easily.

"Renault?" Hearing Renault's words, Agent frowned. "You're the security contractor who often helps Scarecrow purchase various living supplies?"

"That's me. Speaking of which, where's Scarecrow?" Renault spread his hands and asked.

"She's gone to repair the signal transmitter in the south." After a moment of contemplation, Agent said, though she wasn't sure if she should trust the guy in front of her, she still revealed Scarecrow's whereabouts.

"Oh, when will your train be back in operation?" Hearing that Scarecrow was just repairing the signal transmitter, Renault scratched his head.

Who knew where that signal transmitter was? The other side couldn't possibly tell him the location of such an important facility.

It was unlikely he could find Scarecrow directly, so he might as well ask when their train would resume operation. That way, he could take the train back home with a carload of goods.

Upon hearing this, Agent immediately frowned. Why was this guy still not leaving? Didn't he know this was the main factory of Sangvis Ferri? And the SF freight train wasn't open to the public either.

Unless they were a company cooperating with them...

"No intelligence, unable to estimate." With the communication of the entire Sangvis Ferri factory system suddenly cut off and the signal transmitter destroyed, the entire SF factory was in a state of stagnation and chaos. Only elite dolls like her could continue to operate under such conditions. Obviously, the Griffin dolls and human combat personnel who broke into the factory were all prepared.

"Uh, can I go in and take a look? After all, I've never seen that guy called Lycoris." Renault shrugged, ready to go, and gestured for M1911 and the others to follow.

Even if this Agent had bruises all over her body, Renault wouldn't be afraid of her even if she were at her peak. After all, she was just a little stronger, a little more resilient, and had four machine guns hidden under her skirt.

What was the big deal? Ordinary Dominion Marines are more intimidating than her.

As the group advanced, the fallen human combat personnel became more and more numerous. However, most of these people were shot in the back or in the head, similar to the SF automaton units and dolls that had fallen before. Of course, the manner of death was similar, but the wounds were different.

These dead human combat personnel mostly died from ordinary weapons, not SF's particle weapons.

"Commander, did the Griffin T-Dolls have a falling out with these guys? Most of these people look like they were taken out by Griffin T-dolls." M1911 was also puzzled.

They had just broken into Sangvis Ferri factory together, and now they were already starting to fight amongst themselves?
