"So, explain yourself." The first elder spoke as soon as I took a seat opposite to him. I had requested that all the other officials leave and he accepted.

This isn't that much of an issue for me. Although I would have liked it if the empire didn't get their hands on my assets, it is also unavoidable since I am deeply entangled with the empire.
