Chapter 7: New God in town.

Author here: Hey, how's it going? Here's the author again, sorry for the lack of chapters, but I'm in exam season and this week it's going to be a bit difficult for me to upload chapters. But don't worry, because I'll keep posting. Another thing I wanted to mention is that the story of many things is going to change because of our protagonist, so don't worry and enjoy the story. See you in the next one.

Deo POV:

Of the two options left to me, one was the logical one, which was to flee upon seeing that your enemies are massacring you.

But in that case, the retreat signal would have sounded or at least the deviants would have tried to flee, but this was not the case.

The deviants were fighting to the end, so the question remained of why a general would send his soldiers to die when they have nothing to gain or defend to the death.

And that's when the answer came to me, he's gathering all the information he can from the enemy that is massacring him to try to locate some weakness.

Once I deduced the possible reason why the dragon had not appeared, I had the last question left. From where is he watching the battle to gather information?

From the only place where I haven't been able to send my shadows. The sky.

I focused all my attention on the sky, all my senses working at maximum, trying to see the slightest clue that I wasn't wrong.

And after a few brief seconds, on a cloud serving as a cover, there was a dragon.

"Impressive."

I couldn't help those words from coming out of my mouth, because although I had seen movies and series before where these types of creatures appeared. Seeing it in person was a completely different experience.

I took my scythe, which now that I think about it, I should give it a name, and used one of the moves I had learned.

I put a lot of energy into it and threw it with all my might while rotating it. Thanks to the great speed with which I had thrown it, for many of the Spartans behind me, they only saw a black circle that disappeared into the darkness of the night sky.

I could feel the confusion of several of them, until suddenly a huge roar sounded, incomparable to the one heard before.

Many of the men who were not officially Spartans fell to the ground in fear, even the weakest among them fainted.

"The famous fear of the dragon."

It was a skill often mentioned when any mention of a dragon appeared in my former life.

A skill that just by being in the presence of this mythical being, you couldn't control your fear.

"Interesting."

Unfortunately for him, I am his perfect counter. Since my army is immune to his ability.

After a few brief seconds, a small shadow began to descend to the ground. As it descended, this shadow grew larger.

Until it finally crashed to the ground. Producing a loud noise and raising a storm of dust.

"Gods have mercy on us"

I could see that many of the humans behind me were unable to think rationally and could only tremble. Even some of them were praying.

"Do not worry humans, for I am here."

I said a phrase that I always wanted to have said in my former life.

Although for all the humans it was impossible to see due to the large amount of dust blocking their vision, I could see and feel perfectly, how the dragon was rising.

So getting up from my throne, I walked calmly towards the dragon who was also looking at me.

"Who are you?"

"Me? Nobody important, just the one who has destroyed your entire army, and now is going to destroy you."

I could see how my sentence had slightly altered the dragon, who after a few brief seconds, asked me again.

"Why are you helping these humans? Why did you have to intervene? I don't remember causing you any inconvenience for you to attack me."

"Those are good questions, however, why should I answer them? We are not on equal terms for me to have to answer your stupid questions."

"Do you think you have won against me? As I have observed, you are a summoner, and without your army you are nothing."

"Ehhhh? Do you think that? You are even more idiotic than I thought."

It seems that the dragon thought he had hit the nail on the head, as after hearing my response, it seemed that a smile appeared on its face.

I don't know if this is what a dragon's smile looks like, as I have never seen one smile. But the expression on its face right now was very unpleasant.

"Who are you to speak like that to our lord?"

It was Nag who responded on my behalf.

"Are you done?"

"Yes, my lord"

This time it was Ruby who answered me. And after her, my other generals appeared.

It seems that after this great battle, all my soldiers are ready to evolve. Including my generals.

And this time, it seems it will be another great evolution.

I looked back at the dragon to see how its face went from containing a smile to an expression of horror.

"It seems that your army was not as much as you made it seem."

The dragon looked at me but could not answer, as it opened its mouth but no words came out, it seemed like it was using all its neurons to try to think of the best way to get out of here alive.

"I asked you a stupid question, lizard, who are you to speak like that to our lord?"

Once again, Nag received no response.

I could see gears coming out of the dragon's head to think at full capacity.

After seeing that I was not going to get an answer, Nag got even angrier and looked at me waiting for my orders.

But it was not yet time. As I had told them before, they had to annihilate all enemies. But I had never said it had to be a quick death.

The dragon is unable to fly because it is missing a wing and is without an army and surrounded by the enemy army.

He must be entering what many call a bottomless pit. He's entering despair.

I want to see how despair eats away at him inside. And only when there is nothing left to corrode, only then will I end his life.

After a few minutes of silence, the dragon seemed to make a decision, which was of course the most obvious and cliché.

Attack the general so that my army enters confusion and he can escape.

However, he did not count on the fact that thanks to his army, I had become stronger than ever. I could feel how my body and muscles filled with energy.

I had never felt this way before, and I was eager to see how strong I am.

Seeing how the dragon came for me at a speed that for many was almost impossible to see. I could perfectly observe every movement and position of the dragon.

Returning my scythe to my shadow, I charged my fist and enveloped it with a small layer of shadows.

When I saw that the dragon was already within range of my attack, I proceeded to give it a hook on its jaw.

I have to admit that I never expected that my power increase would be so much, because when my fist made contact with the dragon's jaw, there was a sonic explosion.

And the dragon flew off at a huge speed into the sky.

Unfortunately, I don't think the dragon survived the punch, as the amount of blood that came out when the sonic explosion sounded was too much for any living being to survive.

"My lord, this opponent was not worthy of you, next time leave it to us."

A small dry laugh came out of me, realizing that at present there were not many enemies that could stand up to me, and even fewer with my army ahead.

But it's not the time to be pleased with my power, in the future there will be many enemies

who are at the top of the universe.

I couldn't help but look at my fist as I clenched it, to remind myself that I am still not powerful enough to consider myself at the top of the pyramid.

"We'll see, Nag, first of all we have to finish this battle."

Finally, the dragon or what was left of it could be seen falling from the sky.

And as before, once the corpse touched the ground. There was another roar and another storm of dust.

"Bolt, do something about the storm."

To which Bolt, using his affinity with the wind, created small tornadoes that were absorbing the surrounding dust at great speed.

"Good job."

Without waiting for anything else, I approached the dragon, to see that as expected, it was lifeless.

"Tch."

I couldn't help but click my tongue when I couldn't see its expression of desolation and desperation.

"But you're not getting away so easily."

"Arise."

And again, the scene that I had seen so many times before could be seen.

Only this time, the intensity was many levels higher than what I had seen before.

It must be because of the power that the dragon already had.

Since this is the first time I have summoned such a powerful shadow.

"Thank you for giving me this opportunity, my lord."

"So you can speak from the beginning."

In front of me stood a dragon in full form, approximately 5 meters tall.

"From now on, you will be called Shenlong."

I'm not going to lie, I was tempted to call it Charizard, but I was always a big fan of Dragon Ball in my former life.

"Thank you very much for the name, my lord."

Now comes part two of this situation.

While I was thinking this, I turned around to see once again the thousands of Spartans who were looking at me.

It seems that everyone thought the same when they saw me turning to look at them and without anyone saying anything, they all proceeded to kneel.

I summoned my shadow throne again, and I was clearly thinking about what to say.

I'm sure many have heard the sounds of battle.

"As my general said before, I am Osiris, God of Death. I have appeared in this battle for several reasons. But above all, because it was not your time for this city to perish with its inhabitants."

"As you may have seen, this world has many dangers that you are unaware of, and that is why on this occasion I have decided to intervene. But since I am here speaking, I am going to say what I think of your ways of living. And how you should change them if you want to have my favor. First of all, it is your way of seeing the lives of others. I understand your ideology of thinking that the winner reigns over the loser. And it is true, but there is something that as God of Death I cannot allow to see. And it is innocent lives being enslaved and tortured for no apparent reason. So here is my first commandment, slavery is prohibited to all innocent people. If I see at any time that any innocent person is enslaved. You will have lost my favor and my protection. However, if you think I will protect you from everything, you are mistaken. I will only take action when I think it is a battle that you are not prepared to face because the enemy is inhuman."

"For now, I will only say this commandment, but if I see it necessary to implement another one, you will hear from me. Another thing to add is that I am not the only one who will protect you and give you my blessing. I present to you my generals, Nag God of Poison, Ruby Goddess of Lightning, Bolt God of Wind, Udyr God of Nature, Pumba God of Earth, and finally, Shenlong God of Fire."

I could hear many murmurs after hearing my presentation of my generals. I knew that there were already Gods in whom the Spartans believed and even some coincided with the future Greek empire that would be created in the twelfth century, but that didn't matter to me at the moment. Since the main Gods of the Spartans were Athena and Ares.

"However, I want you to know that I will always be watching you, and before going into battle I could see the determination of many of you, but above all one of you caught my attention. Showing a courage worthy even of the Gods. So Deacon, come to me."

Again, many whispers and murmurs were heard from the thousands of Spartans in front of me.

I could see how Deacon was surprised and after coming out of his small state of shock, he proceeded to stand up, attracting all the attention of the Spartans.

He slowly approached until he stood in front of me, and again knelt down.

"Get up, Deacon, as I said before, you have shown a courage worthy even of the Gods, putting your life at stake to protect your family and your home. Without any thought of escape passing through your head. I have to admit that I am impressed. And that is why I am going to make you my chosen one."

I could see Deacon's surprised face and that of all the Spartans behind him. Even, as expected, there were looks of envy.

"I have decided with my generals who are also impressed with your bravery shown on the battlefield."

As I said my sentence, I approached Deacon until I stood face to face with him.

"So Deacon, I, Osiris, God of Death, give you part of my power and make you my chosen one. Use your new powers and strength well."

After finishing my sentence, I put a finger on Deacon's forehead and passed him part of my strength, and the ability to absorb part of the strength of the enemies he defeats and the ability to mold his shadow.

Of course, like my shadows, every time Deacon killed an enemy, I would also receive part of his strength.

After finishing passing him everything I mentioned, a black cocoon proceeded to wrap around Deacon. After seeing that, I also gave the order to my soldiers to evolve, thus filling the entire field with black cocoons.

"To all the others, if you follow your convictions, demonstrating something that makes you stand out from the rest, you too can receive my blessing so never forget it. I will always be watching. Although I have finished speaking today, tomorrow I will appear in the main square to give you a surprise to all of Sparta. So you can go back now."

And after saying that, I proceeded to use exchange with all of them, returning them to the center of the city.

I knew that the history of Sparta was going to change, but so what?

A new God had arrived in town, and many things were going to change.

I am a feeling expressed by words. Truthfully told by few, lies from many. I can cause the greatest happiness, or the deepest sorrow. Yet one still comes back tomorrow. What am I ?
