Delilah and Anna stood before Zhang Han with shrunken heads, trying to appear as innocent as possible. Delilah opened her mouth, but Anna quickly nudged her, taking over.
"Would you like to tell us what was so important that you were discussing?" Zhang Han's sharpened gaze swept over them as his deep, commanding voice rang out.
Delilah raised her eyes and looked at Zhang Han, who was staring at them with an unimpressed expression. Those who didn't know might think they were father-daughter related, and this made Delilah skeptical. Why does he have the same eyes and brows as her?
Maybe all good-looking people do look alike, she found this thought more appropriate and stopped thinking about it, she must be crazy to think she's related to Zhang Han, Ha!
"Sir, we were, uh, discussing… the art of camouflage!" Anna declared, her eyes wide with fake enthusiasm.
Zhang Han raised an eyebrow. "Camouflage?"
Anna nodded vigorously. "Yes, sir! We were trying to figure out how to blend in with the surroundings… using our hair!" She gestured to their messy buns.
Delilah snorted, trying to stifle a giggle. Zhang Han's gaze turned to her.
"And what do you have to add, cadet Delilah?" he asked, his voice dripping with skepticism but there was an underlying warmth in his tone when he mentioned her name.
Delilah lowered her eyes. "I was just suggesting we use our hair as a distraction… you know, like a hair-nado!"
Zhang Han's expression cracked with confusion. "A hair-nado?"
Anna jumped in again. "Yes, sir! It's like a tornado, but with hair! We can use it to confuse the enemy!"
The students erupted into snickers and giggles. Zhang Han's face turned stern, but Delilah could see a hint of amusement in his eyes.
"…" the soldiers were speechless, these set of students really were courting death.
"I think you both need to focus on the actual training, not your… creative hair strategies… And--" He took a cunning pause in his judgement, his expression hardened.
Delilah and Anna exchanged a glance, both thinking the same thing: they were so dead!
Zhang Han stared at them, his eyes narrowing. " Regarding the rules, you were murmuring during my lecture, which diverted my attention and disrupted the lesson, I am a man who follows orders and obey the rules so…"
Delilah and Anna exchanged nervous glances, realizing yet again that they were done for.
"You two will serve extra duty for the remaining days of this program," Zhang Han announced, his voice firm and commanding. "And as for the training exercise, you'll lead it… but with a twist."
Delilah's heart sank, sensing something worse was coming.
Amy was delighted at their misfortune.
The soldiers were sweating buckets, Zhang Han wouldn't be so hard on the girls, will he?
"You'll be paired with the worst performers in the program," Zhang Han continued, his eyes glinting with a hint of satisfaction. "And if you fail, you're out of the program. No exceptions."
